For a Windows 11 Enterprise ISO, sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center or an eligible Visual Studio Subscriptions account. Microsoft’s public Media Creation Tool (MCT) is an interactive Windows application, and the official guidance reviewed here does not document a command-line interface or supported switches. The public x64 ISO is multi-edition, not a dedicated Enterprise download.

Microsoft says available editions in the Microsoft 365 admin center depend on the licenses purchased. If Enterprise media is your requirement, sign in with an account authorized for the relevant download and check what the portal offers.
Does Media Creation Tool have a supported CLI?
The official guide describes the MCT as a Windows application used through a guided workflow. It does not document command-line switches or a supported way to automate ISO creation. That means the cited guidance is not a basis for relying on MCT CLI commands; it does not establish that no undocumented switches exist.
If you need repeatable deployment or automation, use Microsoft’s current deployment documentation and an authorized source for the edition you need, rather than building a process around unverified MCT switches.

What the public ISO and MCT workflow provide
Public x64 ISO
Microsoft describes the public x64 download as a multi-edition ISO that uses the product key to unlock the matching edition. Do not treat it as a dedicated Enterprise ISO. Microsoft lists bootable USB/DVD media and virtual machines as uses for the ISO. See Microsoft’s Windows 11 download page.
Interactive MCT workflow
The cited Microsoft guide describes running the Windows application, accepting its license terms, selecting or retaining the appropriate language and edition, and choosing the ISO option. Its walkthrough refers to a 24H2 multi-edition ISO, so that version-specific detail is guidance for that material, not a promise about what the tool offers today. Create installation media without losing files
- Get media from an authorized source. Use the Microsoft 365 admin center or Visual Studio Subscriptions for Enterprise downloads when available to your account, or use Microsoft’s public download page for its public options.
- For the MCT route, run the tool in Windows. Follow its guided prompts and choose ISO creation if that is the format you need. The documented process is interactive, not a documented CLI procedure.
- For a USB or DVD, use blank media. Microsoft warns that creating installation media deletes the contents of the selected USB drive or DVD. Copy off any files you want to keep before proceeding. The cited source does not establish a specific USB capacity requirement. Microsoft’s download page explains the warning.
- Verify the downloaded ISO. On Windows, calculate its SHA-256 hash in PowerShell with
Get-FileHash -Algorithm SHA256 "C:pathtofile.iso". Compare the resulting hash with Microsoft’s published value for the matching product and language. A match indicates the file matches Microsoft’s published hash. Microsoft’s Windows 11 download page provides the hash information.
Handle expiring links and installation requirements
Microsoft states that download links generated on its download page remain valid for 24 hours. If a generated link expires, return to the page and create a fresh one. Microsoft Windows 11 download page.
