To disconnect a Roku TV from Wi-Fi, use Settings > Advanced system settings > Network connection reset > Reset connection. The TV restarts, and you’ll need to set up Wi-Fi again when you want internet access. Roku’s documented steps do not include a separate Wi-Fi off switch. [Roku Support]
Reset the network connection to disconnect Wi-Fi
- Press Home on your Roku remote.
- Open Settings.
- Select Advanced system settings.
- Select Network connection reset.
- Choose Reset connection and allow the TV to restart.
This clears the network connection; it is not a factory reset. To use internet features again, return to Settings and set up your wireless network. [Roku Support]
Changing networks is different from disconnecting
If you want to join another Wi-Fi network or switch to a wired connection, go to Settings > Network > Set up connection and follow the on-screen prompts. This is Roku’s connection setup path, not a one-tap Wi-Fi-off control. [Roku Support]
What still works without internet
After initial setup, you can use connected HDMI devices, cable TV, and over-the-air broadcasts without an internet connection. Roku streaming, apps, and other internet services require a network connection. [Roku Support]

Why a factory reset is not the right shortcut
A hardware factory reset has broader effects than resetting the network connection. On some Roku TVs, it can be used to enter unlinked mode, where live TV through cable or an antenna and connected HDMI devices remain available, but Roku streaming services and the Streaming Store do not. The option to connect to the internet later during setup is not available on every Roku TV system. [Roku Support]
Use a factory reset only if you intend to reset the TV or use unlinked mode, not just to disconnect Wi-Fi. The reset button’s location and design vary by TV; some models use a pinhole. Holding the button too long can start Recovery Mode instead of a factory reset. [Roku Support]

If the connection will not reset or reconnect
