To delete a saved password in desktop Firefox, open Menu → Logins and Passwords (or Passwords), select the login in the Password Manager, and click Remove. To clear every saved login, open the Password Manager’s three-dot menu and choose Remove All Passwords. On Android, delete a login from the saved-passwords list. These actions remove Firefox’s stored login record; they do not change the password on the website. If Firefox Sync is enabled, a deletion can also affect your other synced devices.
Delete one saved password in Firefox on a computer
- Click the Firefox menu button.
- Choose Logins and Passwords or Passwords to open the Password Manager.
- Search for the website or username, or select the login from the list.
- Click Remove. Confirm if Firefox asks you to.
Firefox’s Password Manager is also available at about:logins. Removing a login deletes Firefox’s saved record; it does not reset or change your password on the website. On Windows and macOS, Firefox may ask you to authenticate with your computer before you view, copy, or edit a login. This is your operating-system authentication, not your Mozilla account password. Mozilla’s Password Manager guide and its instructions for editing or deleting a login describe these controls.
Remove all saved passwords on a computer
- Open Firefox’s menu and select Logins and Passwords or Passwords.
- On the Passwords page, click the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner.
- Select Remove All Passwords.
This clears Firefox’s saved login records. It does not delete your website accounts or change the passwords you use to sign in to those sites. This bulk-removal option is documented in Mozilla’s Password Manager guide.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsDelete a saved password in Firefox for Android
- Tap the three-dot menu.
- Open Passwords, or go through Settings → Passwords or Settings → Logins and passwords → Saved passwords (labels vary by version).
- Select the login you want to remove.
- Tap the three-dot menu and choose Delete, or tap the trash icon.
Your device may require you to unlock it before showing saved logins. Mozilla’s Firefox for Android password instructions cover the available label variants and deletion controls.

What Firefox Sync changes when you delete a password
Sync lets you access saved logins on connected Firefox devices. With Sync enabled, deleting a login may remove it from your other synchronized devices too; Mozilla explicitly documents this effect for Android. Treat a deletion as a change to synced login data, not necessarily a cleanup limited to the device in your hand. See Mozilla’s Android guidance.
If you are handing off a device and want to clear its local synced data, signing out of your Mozilla account and selecting Delete data from this device clears data from that device only. Mozilla lists synced logins and passwords among the local data that can be removed, along with bookmarks, history, add-ons, cookies, and cache. This does not delete that information from your other synced devices. Follow Mozilla’s sign-out and device-data instructions.

Stop Firefox from saving new passwords
On desktop
Open Settings → Privacy & Security, then find the Passwords or Passwords and autofill section and turn off Ask to save passwords. To stop prompts only on a particular site, use the password exceptions control. Menu wording can vary by Firefox version. Turning off saving prevents future save prompts; it does not remove logins already stored in Firefox. Mozilla’s Password Manager guide explains the desktop controls.
On Android
Open Settings → Passwords or Settings → Logins and passwords, then set Save logins and passwords to Never save. This changes future saving behavior, not the saved logins already in the list. See Mozilla’s Android instructions.

Back up logins before removing them
Firefox can export login data to a CSV file, but the passwords in that file are readable and unencrypted. If you export before a bulk deletion, do not upload, email, or share the file, and delete it when you no longer need it. Mozilla explains the risk in its login-data export guide.
