To beat Kailok, block or parry his slash combos, dodge the attacks that cannot be blocked, and use Force Palm to interrupt him. Lower your shield between wind waves when safe to recover stamina. When the yellow stagger bar beneath his health fills, close in and trigger the finisher. Equip healing food before you enter the fight.
Prepare for the fight
- Use a sword and shield if you want to block Kailok’s slash strings.
- Equip healing food in your consumable wheel so it is ready when you need it.
- If the fight is proving difficult, consider investing in health and stamina before trying again.
PC Gamer describes Kailok as an early combat test in Chapter 2. A community boss reference places him in Hernand and lists him as a level 12 story boss with one health bar; those details are reference information, not a guarantee of difficulty for every player or game version.
Choose your defense based on his attack
Four Slash Combo and Multi Slash
Block the slash strings, then counterattack when Kailok finishes. If your timing is reliable, parrying can also create an opening. Avoid attacking into the middle of a combo; wait for the sequence to end.
Overhead Strike and Rapier Wave
The community boss reference identifies these attacks as unblockable, so sidestep rather than holding guard. Watch Kailok and move out of the line of the attack before returning to offense.

Wind waves
Circle Kailok to avoid the wind waves when you have room. If you cannot get clear, blocking a wave is another option described by PC Gamer. Lower your shield between waves when it is safe: keeping it raised continuously can drain stamina you may need for defense.
Interrupt Kailok with Force Palm
Force Palm can stun Kailok and interrupt his offense, giving you time to attack. PC Gamer recommends its Level 3 three-hit combo for a knockdown and a longer damage opportunity. Use the opening to deal damage, but be ready to return to defense as he recovers.

Use the stagger bar to land the finisher
Your attacks build the yellow stagger bar beneath Kailok’s health. When it fills, he is briefly stunned. Move close and trigger the finisher while he remains vulnerable; do not spend the opening backing away or waiting for another attack cue.

PC Gamer identifies the Sword of the Lord as a reward and notes that some attacks with it release wind shockwaves. A community reference also lists Evasive Roll, seven Iron Ore, two Copper Ore, and the Seal of Greed. Reward lists can change with game updates, so check the items shown in your version rather than treating the community list as patch-proof.
