On a Galaxy S23 Ultra, copy content from its source, then paste it into a destination field. To reuse something copied earlier, open Samsung Keyboard’s clipboard panel. Menu locations can vary by One UI version, and sharing a clipboard with another Galaxy device requires specific Samsung settings and connections.

How to copy and paste on the Galaxy S23 Ultra

  1. Select the content: In the app, touch and hold the text or supported content you want. If selection handles appear, drag them to include the right portion.
  2. Copy it: Tap Copy in the selection menu. Choose Cut only if you want the selection removed from its current location.
  3. Choose a destination: Tap the field where the copied content should go.
  4. Paste: Touch and hold in the destination field, then tap Paste when it appears.

Copy is the action at the source; paste is the action at the destination. The available selection and paste options depend on the app and the type of content.

How to paste something copied earlier

For an older clipboard item, open a text field so Samsung Keyboard appears, then open its clipboard panel and tap the item you want to insert.

  1. Tap a text field to display Samsung Keyboard.
  2. Tap the Clipboard icon in the keyboard toolbar.
  3. Tap a previously copied text or image to insert it.

If you do not see the Clipboard icon, check the keyboard toolbar’s overflow menu. The toolbar may also need to be enabled in the keyboard settings. Samsung says the screen presentation can differ by device and One UI version; if you use a non-Samsung keyboard, clipboard access depends on that keyboard’s provider.

Pin or delete items

Samsung Keyboard’s clipboard panel can include controls to pin items for repeated use or delete selected items. You can open the panel from the keyboard toolbar and, in some layouts, from the text-field menu. Do not assume the history is permanent: what appears and how it is managed can vary by software version.

What Samsung’s published history counts mean

Samsung Korea Support’s June 11, 2025 guidance lists different clipboard-history capacities by older One UI version category. These are regional, version-specific figures, not a confirmed current limit for every Galaxy S23 Ultra configuration.

Can you copy on one Galaxy device and paste on another?

Yes. Samsung documents clipboard sharing between supported Galaxy devices. Its US support article introduces the feature with the line, “One UI lets you do exactly that.” To use it, both devices must meet Samsung’s stated requirements:

  • Both are signed in to the same Samsung account.
  • Both are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Bluetooth is enabled on both.
  • Continue on other devices is enabled. Samsung directs users to Settings → Connected devices.
  • Both run One UI 3.1 or later.

After setup, copy content on the first device, then open a pasteable field on the second and use its paste menu or clipboard. Samsung gives Samsung Notes and Messages as examples. This is a supported Galaxy-device feature, not a promise of universal clipboard syncing across Android devices.

Galaxy clipboard sharing or Multi Control?

For transferring clipboard content between Galaxy devices, use the clipboard-sharing feature when both devices satisfy its requirements. Samsung separately documents a Multi Control workflow for copying text on a Galaxy S23 Ultra and pasting it on a Galaxy Book3 Ultra.
