You can connect a phone to a Toshiba TV by mirroring its screen, using AirPlay, casting from a supported app, or—in some setups—connecting through HDMI. The right option depends on your phone, the TV’s exact model, and your region; Toshiba does not offer every method on every television. Check the TV’s model-specific manual or product page before following a menu path.
Check which connection methods your Toshiba TV supports
Find the TV’s full model number in its settings or on the product label, then check the official product page or manual for features such as Screen Sharing, AirPlay, or Google Cast. Toshiba notes that availability can vary by model and country. The menu wording can also differ between televisions.
These methods are not interchangeable: screen mirroring shows the phone’s screen, while casting sends video or audio from a compatible app to the TV. A TV that supports one route may not support another.

On a compatible Toshiba TV and phone, connect the TV to Wi-Fi, open the TV’s Screen Sharing source, and select the TV from the phone’s wireless-display menu. On the Toshiba manual covering this route, the TV setting is at Home > Setting > System > Mobile Device Connection > Screen Sharing. The manual also describes selecting Source on the remote and choosing Screen Sharing.

- Connect the TV to its wireless network.
- On the remote, press Source and choose Screen Sharing. If the TV requires it, enable the feature at Home > Setting > System > Mobile Device Connection > Screen Sharing.
- On the phone, open its wireless-display feature. It may be called Wireless display, Smart View, Wireless projection, or something similar.
- Select the Toshiba TV from the phone’s available-device list and follow any on-screen prompts.
Both the phone and television must support a compatible wireless-display method; Toshiba cautions that some devices do not support casting and that Screen Sharing may not apply to some models or countries. Check Toshiba’s support information for your region and model.
Connect an iPhone or iPad with AirPlay
Use this route only if the exact Toshiba model supports AirPlay. Connect the Apple device and TV to the same network, then choose the TV using Screen Mirroring in Control Center or the AirPlay control in a supported app. If a passcode appears on the TV, enter it on the Apple device. Toshiba’s manual says an AirPlay-enabled TV is required, and notes that the feature is limited to applicable models and regions.

- Confirm AirPlay support in the Toshiba TV’s model-specific documentation.
- Connect the TV and iPhone or iPad to the same network.
- To mirror the whole screen, open Control Center and tap Screen Mirroring, then select the TV. To send content from an app, tap that app’s AirPlay control and choose the TV.
- Enter a passcode if the TV displays one.
Toshiba UK’s Wireless Display guidance says that route does not support iOS and requires an additional external device for iOS. That is guidance for its Wireless Display route, not a statement that no Toshiba TV can connect to an iPhone: a model with AirPlay or Google Cast may offer another option.

If an app on your phone has a Google Cast button, open the app, tap the Cast icon, and select the Toshiba TV. This sends content from the app; it does not necessarily mirror the entire phone screen. Toshiba’s cited manual says Google Cast works with Android and iOS, but built-in Chromecast should not be assumed across the Toshiba range. For example, Toshiba lists Android TV and Chromecast for the 43UA6B63DB; that specification applies to that named model, not all Toshiba televisions. See Toshiba’s 43UA6B63DB specifications.

- Check the TV’s specifications for Google Cast or Chromecast support.
- Connect the phone and TV to the same network.
- Open a compatible app, tap its Cast icon, and choose the TV.
Choose a method—or use a wired connection

Wireless methods avoid a cable but depend on compatible features. HDMI may be an alternative when the TV lacks the wireless method you need, but it can require an external streaming device or a phone-specific adapter. Toshiba describes HDMI as a connection for external devices; the available documentation does not establish compatibility for any particular phone-and-adapter combination. Verify that compatibility before buying anything. Toshiba UK advises iOS users who rely on its Wireless Display route to use an additional external device; it does not identify or recommend a particular product.

- Confirm feature compatibility: Check the exact TV model and phone against the method you are trying. A Toshiba TV may not have Screen Sharing, AirPlay, or Google Cast.
- Check the network: For AirPlay and app casting, make sure the phone and TV are on the same network. Ensure the TV is connected to Wi-Fi for Screen Sharing.
- Open or enable the right TV feature: Select Screen Sharing as the source, or enable it in the TV settings if the manual calls for that step. Menu names may differ.
- Use the matching phone control: Screen Mirroring or a wireless-display setting mirrors a screen; the Cast or AirPlay control inside a supported app sends that app’s content.
- Consider another supported route: If the TV lacks the feature you need, check whether it supports a different built-in method or whether a compatible external device or phone-to-HDMI setup is suitable.
Toshiba’s manuals and support pages do not provide comparative latency, image-quality measurements, or prices for these routes, so those differences cannot be quantified from the cited guidance.
