Connect the soundbar’s HDMI port labeled TV eARC/ARC to the TV’s HDMI port labeled eARC or ARC. Then select the soundbar as the TV’s audio output and the TV/HDMI ARC input on the soundbar. The cable alone does not complete setup.

Connect the HDMI cable to the correct ports

  1. Find the TV’s HDMI port marked ARC or eARC. Ordinary HDMI ports may not support audio return.
  2. Connect it to the soundbar’s port marked HDMI OUT (TV eARC/ARC) or HDMI TO TV (eARC/ARC).
  3. Turn on the TV and soundbar. On the soundbar, select the TV or HDMI ARC input if it does not detect the connection automatically.
  4. Set the TV’s sound output to the soundbar or HDMI receiver.

These are the connection points specified in Samsung’s connection guidance and LG’s ARC instructions. Port and input labels can vary by model.

Set up a Samsung TV

  1. Connect the TV’s ARC/eARC port to the soundbar’s HDMI TO TV (eARC/ARC) port.
  2. Enable Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC). One Samsung Canada example path is Settings → General → External Device Manager.
  3. On supported models, open Audio → Expert Settings → HDMI eARC Mode and choose Auto. Samsung says this setting is off by default in its Canada and US guidance.
  4. Choose the connected soundbar or receiver as the TV’s sound output if the TV has not selected it automatically.

Samsung’s menu paths and feature availability vary by region and model series; the examples are not universal. See the relevant Samsung Canada or Samsung India support instructions and your TV manual if the labels differ.

Set up an LG TV

  1. Connect the TV’s HDMI IN (ARC/eARC) port to the soundbar’s HDMI output marked TV eARC/ARC.
  2. If the soundbar does not detect the TV connection, select OPT/HDMI ARC on the soundbar.
  3. On the TV, open Settings → Sound → Sound Out and choose the wired or HDMI ARC soundbar output. Wording depends on webOS generation and the connected device.
  4. If needed, enable SIMPLINK (HDMI-CEC). LG examples place it under General → Devices → HDMI Settings on webOS 6; on older versions it may be under Connection or General.

LG’s connection instructions focus on ARC and note that menus vary by model. To use eARC-specific audio capabilities, confirm that both the TV and soundbar support eARC.

ULTIMEA 5.1CH Surround Sound Bar System with Dolby Atmos, Poseidon M60
  • Simplified 5.1ch Dolby Atmos Setup: Enjoy immersive 4D sound with real Dolby Atmos and 5.1-channel audio. Five built-in speakers, including two side-firing drivers, create wide surround without rear speakers. Precision DSP ensures <0.5 ms latency for smooth, theater-like sound. Setup takes less than 1 minute.
  • Voice Clarity Enhancement: VoiceMX technology uses advanced DSP algorithms to isolate and enhance vocal frequencies in real time. Dialogue remains crisp and easy to follow by separating speech from background effects and music, even at low volumes or during intense scenes.
  • 300W Output with 6-Driver System: Featuring five precision-tuned full-range drivers and a dedicated wired wooden subwoofer, the system delivers up to 300W of peak power for bold, room-filling sound. With a frequency response of 45 Hz–18 kHz and a maximum SPL of 99 dB, it reproduces everything from subtle nuances to explosive cinematic effects.
  • 18 mm High-Excursion Driver: Powered by BassMX technology, the wired wooden subwoofer features a 18 mm high-excursion driver, a 5.3L tuned cabinet, and a high-density magnetic circuit. This design delivers deeper, tighter bass with greater air displacement and enhanced low-frequency performance—bringing more realism to every scene.
  • HDMI eARC for True Dolby Atmos: HDMI eARC supports up to 37 Mbps of bandwidth, unlocking the full potential of lossless Dolby Atmos 5.1-channel audio. Compared to standard ARC, eARC delivers richer surround effects and greater detail. CEC integration allows the TV and soundbar to work together with unified control.

ARC, eARC, and HDMI cable compatibility

ARC and eARC send audio from the TV back to an audio system over HDMI. Samsung describes eARC as supporting higher-resolution audio than regular ARC, but eARC requires compatible devices and an eARC-compatible HDMI cable, such as HEAC or HEC. Check the specifications for the exact TV, soundbar, source device, and content; support for particular formats and signal paths is not universal.

Check the HDMI cable you already have and consult your device manuals before buying another. The manufacturer guidance does not establish that every setup needs a new cable or a particular brand or length. If you do need one, look for an eARC-compatible HDMI cable.

Troubleshoot no sound or an unstable connection

  1. Check both ports. Make sure the cable connects the TV’s ARC/eARC port to the soundbar’s TV eARC/ARC port, not to ordinary HDMI ports. Confirm the soundbar is on its TV or HDMI ARC input.
  2. Check audio output and basic controls. Select the soundbar in the TV’s sound-output settings, then check the TV and soundbar volume and mute controls.
  3. Check HDMI-CEC. Enable Anynet+ on Samsung or SIMPLINK on LG if the connection is not working as expected. The setting’s location depends on the model and software version.
  4. Test with only the TV and soundbar connected. Disconnect other HDMI devices and test again. If audio works, reconnect the other devices one at a time; Samsung warns that external devices can affect ARC/eARC operation. See Samsung’s soundbar troubleshooting guidance.
  5. Check eARC settings and software. On a supported Samsung TV, confirm that HDMI eARC Mode is set to Auto. If eARC still fails, Samsung advises checking for TV software and soundbar firmware updates.
  6. Investigate format-specific problems. If the soundbar is detected but a particular audio format does not play correctly, check the TV’s digital audio output setting and format support in both device manuals. Support for formats such as Atmos, TrueHD, or DTS depends on the exact models and signal path; see Samsung’s eARC troubleshooting guidance.
