To compare Galaxy phones fairly, separate battery capacity from real-world runtime, then compare performance under the tasks you actually do. Check the exact regional model, screen and chip configuration, and use tests with matching workloads and settings; Samsung’s published playback estimates are useful reference points, not an independent battery-life ranking.
Start with the comparison that matters to you
Before looking at specifications, list the ways you use a phone most: gaming, video, navigation, camera recording, mobile data, or several apps at once. A model that performs well in light-use or video playback may behave differently during a long gaming session or while recording video and using mobile data.
Build a short comparison for the exact phones and configurations you can buy. Record the battery capacity, the source and test method for any runtime figure, processor and RAM, display size and resolution, refresh behavior, charging capability, and independent results for the workloads you care about. Compare runtime figures directly only when the test conditions are sufficiently similar, including brightness, network, apps, and settings.

- Capacity is a hardware specification, usually shown in mAh.
- Runtime is an outcome influenced by hardware, software, settings, battery age, temperature, network, and workload.
What Samsung’s current Galaxy S26 figures do—and don’t—show
Samsung UK’s 2026 S26/S25 comparison lists these typical capacities and maximum video-playback estimates for the S26 models. The playback values are Samsung-reported claims, not results from an independent, same-protocol comparison of the lineup.

Capacity does not rise uniformly from one generation to the next. In Samsung UK’s comparison, the base S26 is listed at 4,300 mAh versus 4,000 mAh for the S25; the S26+ and S25+ are both listed at 4,900 mAh, and both Ultra generations at 5,000 mAh. These differences make capacity one useful input, not a verdict about which phone lasts longer in your use.

How to judge battery life for your workload
Look for comparable runtime tests
Prefer independent tests that use the same procedure across the models you are considering. Check whether the test reflects your likely use: continuous video playback is not a proxy for gaming, navigation, camera recording, or mixed use over mobile data. If reviewers used different brightness levels, networks, or workloads, do not treat their runtime figures as a direct ranking.
Include the screen and demanding apps
Screen size, resolution, brightness, and refresh rate can affect power demand. Samsung Canada notes that higher brightness, larger screens, higher resolutions, and higher refresh rates can use more power; camera use, especially demanding recording, and background apps can also contribute to drain. A higher-refresh display may be a worthwhile trade if smooth scrolling or gaming matters more to you than minimizing consumption.

Samsung Canada’s battery-life guide also identifies usage, battery age, and temperature as factors. Its typical-capacity table lists the S26 at 4,300 mAh, S26+ at 4,900 mAh, S26 Ultra at 5,000 mAh; S25 at 4,000 mAh, S25+ at 4,900 mAh, S25 Ultra at 5,000 mAh; and S24 at 4,000 mAh, S24+ at 4,900 mAh, S24 Ultra at 5,000 mAh. These are manufacturer capacity figures, not a measured runtime order.
How to compare Galaxy performance
Do not choose on a chip name, RAM amount, or peak benchmark score alone. Those can help identify hardware differences, but they do not establish how responsive a phone feels in your apps or how well it sustains performance during a long workload. Look for both everyday responsiveness and sustained tests—especially gaming or other demanding tasks—using the specific configuration sold in your market.

Samsung UK lists Exynos 2600 for the S26 and S26+ and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy for the S26 Ultra; it lists Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy across the S25 family. Samsung’s US launch announcement says processor type may vary by market for the S26 family. These manufacturer pages do not provide independent benchmark results, so they support identifying stated processor configurations, not declaring one model faster overall. Confirm the country, carrier, and exact model before using chipset comparisons to make a decision.
Check charging as part of the purchase
Charging convenience can matter if your usage is heavy or you often top up between activities. Samsung says the S26 Ultra supports Super Fast Charging 3.0 up to 60W and claims it can reach 75% in around 30 minutes under its stated test conditions. That is a manufacturer claim, not a guarantee for every charger, cable, region, or usage state. Samsung’s US announcement says the power adapter is sold separately for the cited configuration and recommends Samsung-approved chargers and cables. Check the regional listing for the included adapter and compatible charging specification before buying.

A practical buying checklist
- Choose the exact candidates. Record full model names and market or carrier variants rather than comparing only family names.
- Write down your main workloads. Include the activities most likely to dominate your use, such as gaming, navigation, video streaming, camera recording, or multitasking.
- Compare capacity and display specifications. Note typical capacity, screen size, resolution, brightness needs, and refresh behavior, while keeping in mind that none alone predicts runtime.
- Check relevant tests. Use battery results and sustained-performance tests that match your workload and have comparable methods. Treat manufacturer playback estimates as manufacturer claims.
- Verify the exact configuration and charging package. Confirm processor, availability, charging support, and whether an adapter is included in your region.
