There is no single best internet provider for every Florida household. Enter your exact home address in the FCC National Broadband Map first, then confirm availability and current terms with each provider. The map can show which services report availability at your location, but it does not rate performance or affordability.

Why the best provider depends on your address

Fixed broadband availability is reported for individual homes and small businesses. A provider or technology listed for one Florida address may not serve another, even nearby. The FCC describes its map as showing internet services available across the United States, as reported by providers through its Broadband Data Collection process.

Use the map to build a shortlist, not to declare a winner. The FCC says the map shows availability, not network performance, affordability, or adoption. Its entries reflect provider reports and can be updated through submissions, FCC verification, location-data updates, and public input. If an availability listing for your location appears wrong, the FCC provides a process to challenge it.

Which types of internet service may be available in Florida?

Florida service listings include fiber, cable, DSL or copper, fixed wireless, and satellite. Each technology is a category, not a guarantee of a particular experience; check the plan and address-specific terms rather than assuming quality from the label.

TP-Link AX1800 WiFi 6 Router (Archer AX21 V5)
  • DUAL-BAND WIFI 6 ROUTER: Wi-Fi 6(802.11ax) technology achieves faster speeds, greater capacity and reduced network congestion compared to the previous gen. All WiFi routers require a separate modem. Dual-Band WiFi routers do not support the 6 GHz band.
  • AX1800: Enjoy smoother and more stable streaming, gaming, downloading with 1.8 Gbps total bandwidth (up to 1200 Mbps on 5 GHz and up to 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz). Performance varies by conditions, distance to devices, and obstacles such as walls.
  • CONNECT MORE DEVICES: Wi-Fi 6 technology communicates more data to more devices simultaneously using revolutionary OFDMA technology
  • EXTENSIVE COVERAGE: Achieve the strong, reliable WiFi coverage with Archer AX1800 as it focuses signal strength to your devices far away using Beamforming technology, 4 high-gain antennas and an advanced front-end module (FEM) chipset
  • OUR CYBERSECURITY COMMITMENT: TP-Link is a signatory of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Secure-by-Design pledge. This device is designed, built, and maintained, with advanced security as a core requirement.
  • Fiber: Statewide listings include AT&T, Frontier, Hotwire Communications, Quantum Fiber, and Metronet.
  • Cable: Listings include Xfinity, Spectrum, WOW, Breezeline, Blue Stream, and Mediacom.
  • DSL or copper: Listings include AT&T, CenturyLink, Frontier, and Kinetic.
  • Fixed wireless: Home internet services listed include T-Mobile 5G Home, Verizon 5G Home, and AT&T Internet Air.
  • Satellite: Listings include Starlink, HughesNet, and Viasat.

These are statewide summary listings, not confirmation that any named service is available at your home. Broadband Map’s Florida summary says its availability data is based primarily on FCC Broadband Data Collection records for December 2025, published in May 2026 and revised through July 2026; it cautions that availability may be overestimated. How to use reported coverage and speed figures

Broadband Map reports the following maximum advertised speeds and estimated statewide population coverage. These are aggregator-reported figures—not FCC endorsements, address-level guarantees, or measurements of real-world performance. The source’s coverage data has the overestimation caveat described above.

  • Ongoing total cost: Look beyond a promotional price. Check what the recurring price becomes after an introductory period, along with equipment, installation, taxes or fees where disclosed, and any bundle requirement.
  • Data and contract conditions: Review data limits, overage terms, cancellation fees, and any price guarantee in the current offer.
  • Equipment: Check whether provider-supplied equipment is included and what it supports before buying a separate router or mesh system.
  • Address eligibility: Confirm the exact service address with each provider, not just a city or ZIP code.

Confirm availability before signing up

  1. Look up your location: Enter your home address in the FCC map and review the providers, technologies, and reported maximum advertised download and upload speeds.
  2. Make a shortlist: Keep only services the map reports for your location, while treating the result as reported availability rather than a guarantee of performance or value.
  3. Check each provider directly: Use the provider’s address checker to verify eligibility and review the plan details for that address. For example, Frontier’s Florida page offers an availability checker; Verizon says customers should enter an address or use its map because service and price depend on local availability.
  4. Compare the complete offer: Check recurring pricing, speed terms, equipment, installation, data limits, and contract conditions before placing an order.
