Turn off your QLED TV and gently wipe the screen with a clean, soft microfiber cloth. If a mark remains, check the instructions for your exact model before using moisture: Samsung’s US guidance allows distilled water applied to the cloth, not sprayed on the screen. Use light pressure and dry any moisture with a clean cloth.
Clean your QLED screen in five steps
- Turn off the TV. Samsung’s US instructions say to let it cool for a few minutes and unplug it before cleaning. Follow your model’s manual if its procedure differs.
- Start with a dry cloth. Use a clean, soft microfiber cloth reserved for the screen and frame. Wipe gently; do not press hard, scrub, or use a dirty cloth.
- Check the model instructions if a mark remains. Samsung’s US and Singapore guidance permits distilled water on the microfiber cloth when needed. Keep the cloth only lightly damp. The Singapore guidance also says to remove remaining moisture with a dry cloth.
- Keep liquid off the television itself. Never spray water or cleaner directly onto the screen or TV. Let the screen dry completely before reconnecting the television if you unplugged it.
- Stop if the mark persists. Consult the exact model’s manual or contact the manufacturer before trying a commercial screen cleaner, wipe, or solvent.
What not to use on a QLED screen
Samsung’s general TV-cleaning instructions warn against window cleaner, soap, scouring powder, wax, and cleaners containing solvents such as alcohol, benzene, ammonia, or acetone. They also caution against abrasive pads and paper towels, which can scratch the screen or damage its anti-glare coating. Strong pressure can damage a fragile screen.
Do not assume a cleaning method allowed for one television brand or model is safe for another. Sony’s care guidance includes a narrow alcohol-cleaning exception for specified BRAVIA 9 II models; that exception does not establish that alcohol is suitable for Samsung QLED screens.

Choosing a cloth or liquid
- Cloth: Choose a clean, soft, lint-free microfiber cloth. Samsung recommends microfiber for routine cleaning; a branded kit is not necessary for the basic dry-wipe method.
- Liquid: Distilled water is an optional step only when dry wiping is insufficient and the instructions for your exact model permit it. Apply it to the cloth, not the screen.
- Screen-cleaning products: Do not make a kit or commercial solution your default. Check the TV manufacturer’s instructions before using any product, since general guidance rules out several common household cleaners and solvents.
