Short answer: Eligible students can claim Google’s student AI offer at Google’s student offer page, verify enrollment through SheerID when prompted, and finish signup. The offer varies by country: Google’s August 19, 2026 announcement describes a free year of Google AI Pro for eligible U.S. college students and Google AI Plus for eligible students outside the U.S. Photoshop is a separate case: Adobe’s general student offer is a paid Creative Cloud Pro subscription after a seven-day trial, while its free Photoshop offer in India is delivered through participating accredited institutions.
Which student offers are actually free?
A student ID does not unlock the same software or deal everywhere. Google’s current offer is a time-limited subscription promotion with online eligibility checks. Adobe’s ordinary student route discounts a paid subscription; the free Adobe access announced in India is institution-based rather than a universal individual claim.

How to claim Google’s student AI offer
- Open one.google.com/ai-student and check the offer shown for your country and Google Account.
- Select the available student offer and complete SheerID verification if Google requests it. Google’s general terms require enrollment at a higher-education institution in a supported region and age 18 or older.
- Sign in with a personal Google Account and complete the subscription flow. Google’s terms also require a Google Payments account and qualifying payment method; the U.S. page specifically requires a valid payment method.
- Record the offer end date and any renewal price displayed during signup. Cancel before the paid renewal if you do not want to continue.
Google’s U.S. page says new users and students whose 2025 AI Pro trial expired may qualify, and lists December 31, 2026 as the redemption deadline. It also says students must verify eligibility each year to maintain access. These terms are specific to the live U.S. offer; check the page for the terms attached to your region and account. Eligibility details that can block a Google claim
Google’s general terms list exclusions in addition to the age, enrollment, verification, and payment conditions. Eligibility may be unavailable to supervised accounts, family-group members, enterprise purchasers, certain discounted Pixel bundle subscribers, or people whose Google One subscription is through a third party or affiliate. Read the current Google One terms and offer-specific conditions before signing up.

Google Help says Pro student offers generally require SheerID reverification every 12 months for up to four consecutive years. If verification lapses, the offer can end and regular-price charges may apply. For most students, Adobe’s offer is a discount, not free Photoshop
Adobe presents Photoshop within its discounted Creative Cloud Pro student subscription. The offer page describes a seven-day trial, after which the student membership is paid. Adobe’s displayed student pricing can be localized—for example, the page reviewed displayed Indian rupee pricing—so use the Adobe page for your country rather than assuming a price from another market. Adobe says a verified school-issued email may qualify for student pricing. If email verification is not available, Adobe may request additional proof of eligibility. The exact requirements and price depend on the local Adobe offer. Adobe student page

India’s no-cost Adobe access depends on the institution
Adobe’s February 19, 2026 announcement describes no-cost Photoshop, Acrobat, and Firefly access for students through accredited higher-education institutions in India. It connects the initiative to a partnership with the Government of India and NASSCOM FutureSkills Prime. Adobe also said 15,000 schools and 500 colleges were slated to have Content Creator Labs in relation to the initiative; that figure does not establish that every listed institution or student already has access. Before you accept a “free” student subscription
- Confirm the country-specific plan name and eligibility requirements on the offer page.
- Check whether a payment method is required and note the renewal price and date shown at signup.
- Use a personal Google Account for Google’s student offer, not a supervised or enterprise account.
- For Adobe, distinguish the paid student discount and trial from institution-provided access in India.
- Save confirmation details and set a reminder before the offer ends if you do not want a paid subscription.
