There is no official best membership price for an Indian audience or a 24/7 YouTube channel. Start with one to three levels, select from YouTube’s current India price points, and make every higher level worthwhile through a benefit you can deliver consistently. Treat the amounts as selectable options—not proven price recommendations—and use audience feedback and channel data to refine your offer.
Start with the value members receive—not the fact that the stream runs 24/7
A continuous public stream is already available to viewers for free. Membership should offer a separate, clearly described reason to pay: for example, recognition, a members-only chat or participation feature, or genuinely exclusive content. A 24/7 schedule does not, by itself, establish a special membership price. YouTube’s pricing guidance recommends considering your audience and weighing the work and cost of each perk against the value viewers may place on it. YouTube Help: Channel memberships pricing tips.
A low entry level can serve viewers who mainly want to support the channel, provided you explain what it includes and do not imply that it unlocks more than it does. Avoid promising constant personal attention or custom requests unless you can reliably provide them alongside the stream.

YouTube’s India pricing page lists selectable new price points, including the following lower options. These are examples from the schedule, not recommendations for a particular channel:

YouTube says pricing updates that began rolling out in May 2025 may affect new memberships, and the rollout is gradual. The page also retains a previous schedule; do not mix legacy amounts with the newer choices when planning a new offer. Existing members may see a different price depending on when they joined. Check the live YouTube channel memberships pricing table and the price selector in Studio before publishing.
Choose a small number of tiers you can sustain
YouTube allows up to six membership levels and says many creators start with one to three. More levels are not automatically better: each one adds choices for viewers and a commitment for you to maintain. YouTube’s pricing tips advise creators to consider audience demographics, ask viewers what they value, and balance perk delivery effort against perceived value.

- Begin with one to three levels. Choose the lowest available price that feels accessible to the Indian viewers you want to serve and gives a clear, honest reason to join. There is no source-backed universal best price or conversion-maximizing amount.
- Make each step up meaningfully different. Describe what the next level adds. YouTube levels stack, so higher levels include the perks from lower ones; avoid charging more for a tier whose added benefit is unclear.
- Check the recurring workload. Estimate the time and cost to create, moderate or deliver every perk. Prefer benefits that can be maintained without making the continuous stream harder to operate.
- Ask before you build. Use a community post or poll to learn which benefits viewers actually want, as YouTube recommends. Revisit the offer after launch using direct feedback and the Memberships tab and Analytics.
- Review the price limit. YouTube says a creator may update prices for new members once every 12 months from the prior change; existing members keep their original price. Check the current rules in Studio before changing an offer.
Design perks around a continuous channel
YouTube’s examples of membership benefits include members-only livestreams, videos and Shorts, selected chat features, member milestone chat, a recognition shelf and new-member messages during livestreams. Which options are available and appropriate depends on the channel. Explain the actual benefit at each level in the Join experience; do not suggest that paying members receive uninterrupted access to the public stream if everyone can already watch it.

For a music, devotional or ambient channel, for instance, a creator could distinguish a basic support level from a higher level that includes a specific exclusive video or members-only event. That is an example, not a recommendation to offer content the creator does not own or cannot consistently produce. Check that every promised recording and other material is cleared for the use you plan to make of it.

Account for international members and actual revenue
Although this pricing decision is for Indian viewers, a channel may also have members elsewhere. YouTube says membership prices can vary by viewer country and platform, so an international member may see a localized price rather than the amount selected for India. The member sees the channel’s benefits and available price when selecting Join.
YouTube says creators receive 70% of membership revenue recognized by Google after applicable local sales tax and other fees, which can vary by geography and platform; YouTube currently covers payment-processing fees. This is not necessarily 70% of the displayed Indian price. Avoid forecasting your take-home amount by multiplying the sticker price by 70% without accounting for the relevant deductions and platform.
In India, recurring members may need to verify or re-enter payment details to maintain a membership because of RBI eMandate requirements; some banks may not support recurring payments. If a member reports a billing interruption, direct them to YouTube’s membership and payment support rather than promising that changing your tier price will resolve it. Confirm eligibility and publish in Studio
Pricing is only one part of setup. Confirm the channel meets YouTube’s eligibility, location and policy requirements, accept the Commerce Product Module, and enable memberships in YouTube Studio’s Earn section. Acceptance into the YouTube Partner Program does not necessarily activate memberships immediately: YouTube says the channel remains subject to review, and its setup guidance says that review can take up to two days. Follow the current YouTube channel memberships setup instructions for the available Studio steps.
