Choose the Galaxy S26 for the smallest, lightest phone; the S26+ for a larger QHD+ screen and more battery capacity without moving to Ultra; or the S26 Ultra if its extra camera hardware, S Pen or largest display matters to you. The best fit depends on which of those differences you will use—not simply which model has the highest specifications.

Samsung lists Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays with adaptive refresh rates up to 120 Hz across the three models. The weights and display sizes are from Samsung’s 2026 global launch specifications; battery, charging and camera specifications are from Samsung’s US comparison materials. Which Galaxy S26 should you choose?
Choose the Galaxy S26 for easier handling
At 6.3 inches and 167 g, the S26 is the smallest and lightest of the three. It is the sensible place to start if you care about a less bulky phone or want the lowest US launch starting price. Its trade-offs are an FHD+ screen and the smallest listed battery capacity. Samsung lists the same rear-camera configuration for the S26 and S26+.
Choose the Galaxy S26+ for a bigger screen without Ultra
The S26+ gives you a 6.7-inch QHD+ display and a listed 4,900 mAh battery in a 190 g body. It is the middle option if the base model’s screen feels too small but you do not specifically need the Ultra’s camera system or S Pen. Its listed rear-camera configuration matches the S26’s, so the move to Plus is principally about screen size, resolution, battery capacity and charging rate.

Choose the Galaxy S26 Ultra for its specific extras
The Ultra is the largest at 6.9 inches and the heaviest at 214 g. Samsung lists a 200 MP wide camera, a 50 MP ultra-wide camera, an additional 50 MP telephoto camera and up to 100x Space Zoom. It is also the only one of these three with S Pen support. Those are reasons to consider the Ultra if you want those features; they do not establish that every photo will look better or that the Ultra is a better value for every buyer.
How much do the camera and S Pen differences matter?
The S26 and S26+ share the listed 50 MP wide, 12 MP ultra-wide and 10 MP 3x telephoto rear-camera setup. The Ultra adds higher-resolution listed sensors and additional telephoto hardware. Samsung’s 100x Space Zoom figure describes a zoom capability, not a guarantee of detail or image quality at that magnification. The specifications alone do not provide a controlled comparison of real-world photos, so base your decision on whether the added camera hardware and zoom range are useful to you.

S Pen support is exclusive to the S26 Ultra among these models. Samsung states that the S26 Ultra pen does not support BLE or Air Actions, so do not choose it expecting those capabilities.

What do battery capacity and charging figures tell you?
Samsung lists capacities of 4,300 mAh for S26, 4,900 mAh for S26+ and 5,000 mAh for Ultra, with maximum wired charging rates of 25 W, 45 W and 60 W respectively. These figures show the models’ capacity and listed charging tiers, but they do not predict a guaranteed number of hours between charges. Actual runtime depends on use and conditions; the supplied specifications do not establish comparative battery-test results.

How should you compare prices and regional versions?
At US launch, Samsung listed starting prices of $899.99 for S26, $1,099.99 for S26+ and $1,299.99 for Ultra. These are 2026 launch starting prices, not verified current selling prices. Samsung announced general availability in the US beginning March 11, 2026; launch pre-order offers were limited-time promotions and should not be treated as current discounts. Check the price for the exact configuration and seller before deciding.
Model specifications and configurations can differ by market. Samsung’s global launch information lists Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy and Exynos 2600 processor options, and says processor type may vary by device and market. Storage and availability can also vary by country, carrier or region. Confirm the processor, storage and model offered for your location rather than assuming a US configuration applies elsewhere. Samsung’s US launch announcement covers US timing and launch prices, while Samsung’s global launch announcement describes market variation.

Make the final choice based on what you will use
- Prioritize compact size and lower weight: look at the S26.
- Want a larger QHD+ screen but not Ultra’s size: compare the S26+.
- Need S Pen support or want the Ultra’s additional camera hardware: consider the S26 Ultra.
- Buying a case: match it to the exact model, since Samsung lists different phone dimensions.
