Choose the Fitbit you’ll wear consistently, then narrow the options by display, GPS and the health or workout information you want. In Google’s current lineup, Fitbit Air is screenless, Inspire 3 focuses on everyday tracking, Charge 6 adds built-in GPS in a tracker-style band, and Versa 4 and Sense 2 use a watch design. Sense 2 emphasizes wellness tools such as stress management and ECG. These are Google’s product descriptions, not independent test rankings.
Start with the form you will actually wear
A tracker that feels comfortable and fits your routine is more useful than one with a long feature list that you rarely put on. Google’s current comparison includes two tracker-style bands, two watches and a screenless option.
| Model | Form and emphasis | Notable documented details |
|---|---|---|
| Google Fitbit Air | Screenless tracking | Google describes quiet, comfortable tracking. Its current comparison says the Google Health Premium coaching experience requires membership. Check Google’s listing for full specifications and availability, which may change for this newly presented model. |
| Fitbit Inspire 3 | Light tracker for everyday habits | Google describes step tracking, active minutes and sleep insights, with claimed battery life of over one week. The cited comparison does not establish built-in GPS; do not assume it records a route without a phone. |
| Fitbit Charge 6 | Tracker-style band with a broad exercise feature set | Google lists 40+ exercise modes, built-in GPS, all-day activity tracking, heart-rate metrics, 50m water resistance and up to seven-day battery life. The battery figure is a manufacturer claim, not an independent test result. |
| Fitbit Versa 4 | Smartwatch-style device | Google describes workout tracking, heart-rate and sleep-stage metrics, iOS and Android compatibility, and built-in GPS. |
| Fitbit Sense 2 | Smartwatch-style device with a wellness emphasis | Google highlights stress management, ECG and skin-temperature monitoring. ECG availability and limitations apply; see the health-feature section below. |

Decide whether you need built-in GPS
Built-in GPS is useful if you want a workout’s pace and distance recorded without taking your phone along for GPS. Google lists built-in GPS for Charge 6 and Versa 4. Check the exact model and workout details before relying on GPS for a particular activity. If you are considering Inspire 3, the cited Google comparison does not establish built-in GPS, so do not buy it on the assumption that it can track an independent route.

Match the model to your main routine
For basic activity and sleep habits: Inspire 3

For tracking without a display: Fitbit Air

Understand what ECG can—and cannot—tell you
Google says its ECG app records a 30-second reading to assess whether the heart rhythm shows signs of atrial fibrillation (AFib). It is available only on compatible products, including Charge 6 and Sense 2, and only in supported locations. Google says it is not intended for people under 22, cannot detect all heart conditions, and cannot diagnose AFib; only a doctor can make that diagnosis. Check Google’s ECG app information for the current country list and eligibility details. Treat ECG as a limited feature, not a general heart-health screening guarantee.

Make the final choice with a short checklist
- Form: Do you want a screenless device, a tracker-style band or a watch?
- GPS: Do you need workout pace and distance without carrying your phone?
- Purpose: Are everyday activity and sleep habits, workout features or the Sense 2’s described wellness tools your priority?
- Compatibility: Does your phone meet Google Health’s operating-system requirements, and can you use a Google Account?
- Access: Do any features you want depend on a paid membership or location availability?
- Routine: Will the device’s form, charging needs and on-device information suit how you plan to use it?
Use these answers to compare the models rather than treating the longest feature list as the automatic winner. Google’s descriptions establish feature differences, not which device will perform best for an individual wearer.
