Start by measuring the usable space and checking where the station’s plugs and cables will go. Then match its simultaneous power output and charging format to the devices you actually use together. A charging station that fits on paper can still block an outlet, leave a cable stretched across the surface, or divide power differently than you expect.
Will the charging station fit your nightstand or desk?
Measure the clear area where the station will sit, including room needed to reach nearby controls, drawers, or bedside items. Compare those measurements with the station’s published width, depth, and height. Also check whether its plug or power cable exits from a side, rear, or bottom: the body may fit while the connector blocks a neighboring outlet or pushes the station against a wall.
For example, Anker lists its Nano Charging Station (7-in-1, 100W), model A91C8, at 4.76 × 2.86 × 2.09 inches. It has three AC outlets, three USB-C ports, and one USB-A port. Those dimensions describe the unit, not the extra clearance needed for plugs or connected cables. See Anker’s A91C8 specifications.

- Measure the usable surface, not just the furniture’s advertised width.
- Check the product’s complete dimensions and the direction its power cord and device cables need to run.
- Consider what the station could cover or obstruct: an outlet, lamp, alarm clock, drawer, or frequently used desk item.
- If it will sit on a power strip or near other equipment, check that the plug arrangement leaves those connections accessible.
How many ports and how much power do you need?
Count the devices you expect to charge at the same time, then identify which need USB-C, USB-A, or AC outlets. Port count alone does not tell you whether the station can power that mix adequately: a port’s maximum output may apply only when it is used by itself.

Read the manufacturer’s output table for simultaneous use. The A91C8, for instance, lists up to 100W from a USB-C port when used singly, but its power allocation changes as more USB ports are occupied. Compare the table’s one-, two-, three-, and four-port combinations with your own devices before choosing it; do not assume every port can deliver its individual maximum at once. Anker’s A91C8 product page lists the model’s allocations.
Another compact wired example is Anker’s Nano Charging Station (6-in-1, 150W, Compact), model A1A05. Anker’s support page lists a 150W maximum total output, four USB-C ports and two USB-A ports, a maximum single-port USB-C output of 100W for designated ports, and dimensions of 149.5 × 67.5 × 22 mm. Check the port-specific details on Anker’s A1A05 support page.

Which shape suits how you use your devices?
The right form factor depends on whether you want to drop a device down, keep a screen visible, or consolidate several wireless-charging devices. Belkin describes the practical differences among these common shapes in its wireless charger guide.

| Flat pad | You want a simple place to set down a phone for charging. | Whether the pad’s surface and position suit your available space and device. |
| Stand | You want the phone upright and its screen easy to see. | Whether the viewing angle and placement work where you will use it. |
| 3-in-1 station | You want one setup for a phone, watch, and earbuds. | Whether each device is supported and whether the combined footprint fits. |
Will wireless charging work at the speed you expect?
Confirm support for the exact phone and wireless standard rather than relying on a broad “wireless charging” label. Charging speed depends on the receiving device and compatible standard; the pad-versus-stand shape by itself does not determine speed. Magnetic alignment also depends on the phone or a compatible case. A wireless charger cannot charge a phone that does not support wireless charging. Belkin’s wireless charging guidance distinguishes Qi and Qi2 behavior across device families.

For a model-specific example, Anker says its Prime Wireless Charging Station (3-in-1), model A25X7, supports up to 25W with Qi2.2 25W-enabled devices. Anker recommends a USB-C adapter rated at 65W or higher for 25W charging and cooling. Treat that figure as conditional, not a promise for every compatible-looking phone; verify your device and the required adapter on Anker’s A25X7 page.

Follow the placement and use instructions for the specific model. For example, Anker’s A91C4 guide says the station’s bottom surface can become hot during prolonged charging and instructs users to place its foot pads firmly on the desk. This is guidance for that model, not a claim about every charging station. Consult the guide for the product you choose: Anker A91C4 user guide.

Use a short final checklist before buying:
- Does the station fit the measured surface, with room for its plug and cables?
- Can it charge your actual device mix simultaneously, according to the manufacturer’s output table?
- Are its ports, wireless standard, and device compatibility right for those devices?
- Does its pad, stand, or multi-device layout suit how you use the space?
- Have you checked the model’s placement instructions and current specifications?
