There is no evidence-based universal best CDN for Asia. Choose by the countries and internet providers your audience actually uses, whether mainland China is in scope, your content and origin setup, required security and support, and measured total cost. The available provider documentation supports a useful comparison of three options—not a reliable seven-provider ranking—so the guide below separates documented facts from what you still need to verify.

Start by defining what “Asia” means for your audience

Asia is not one delivery market. List the countries where your users live, then identify the mobile and fixed-line networks they use. A provider’s presence in a city or country does not prove that users on your target networks will get low latency, high cache-hit rates, or reliable service.

Make mainland China a separate requirement. CDN delivery there can involve different eligibility, operating requirements, routing, and billing. Do not infer China availability from a provider’s presence elsewhere in Asia. CDNPlanet’s June 17, 2026 directory treats China separately from its Asia coverage view; the provider details summarized below do not establish each provider’s China eligibility or prerequisites.

What the documented provider details show

The table compares only the three providers for which the cited material establishes useful primary details. Coverage statements are not a performance ranking, and the locations shown do not establish service quality for a particular audience or workload.

#1 Best Overall

Provider Documented Asia presence Documented distinction What the cited material does not establish
Amazon CloudFront AWS’s CloudFront features page, accessed October 7, 2026, lists Asia-Pacific POPs including Hong Kong; several cities in India; Jakarta; Osaka and Tokyo; Kuala Lumpur; Manila; Singapore; Seoul; Taipei; Bangkok; and Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. AWS describes a network of POPs, regional edge caches, and embedded POPs. Its Origin Shield documentation identifies selected regions including Mumbai, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney, and Tokyo, and recommends choosing a region with low latency to the origin. Relative latency, cache-hit rate, price for your traffic, and China availability or prerequisites are not established by those coverage and Origin Shield pages.
Alibaba Cloud CDN and DCDN Alibaba Cloud’s DCDN POP distribution, last updated April 29, 2026, lists Asia Pacific 1 locations including Hong Kong, Tokyo/Osaka, Singapore, Bangkok, Manila, and Kuala Lumpur; Asia Pacific 2 includes Jakarta, Surabaya, Batam, Seoul, and Pakistan; Asia Pacific 3 includes Sydney and Melbourne. The page also identifies service areas separately from local POP locations. Alibaba Cloud’s billing overview, last updated August 14, 2026, describes pay-as-you-go and prepaid resource plans. Its basic billing rules, last updated April 1, 2026, describe transfer and peak-bandwidth billing; CDN and DCDN billing should be checked for the specific product. A service area should not be read as proof of a local POP. Current quoted rates, workload performance, and China availability or prerequisites are not established by the cited coverage and billing summaries.
CDNetworks CDNetworks’ network map, accessed October 7, 2026, shows POP cities across Southeast Asia and says its deployment covers all ASEAN member countries. The stated Southeast Asia coverage makes it a candidate to assess for an audience concentrated in that region. The provider’s map does not establish comparative latency, service quality, price, workload behavior, or China availability and prerequisites.

CDNPlanet’s June 17, 2026 directory lists 23 networks with Asian edge locations and names options including Cloudflare, Fastly, and Tencent Cloud, among others. Treat that directory as a way to discover candidates, not as a benchmark or current pricing source; it does not supply the consistent provider-level evidence needed for a seven-way comparison.

Choose candidates against your delivery requirements

Countries, local POPs, and service eligibility

For each candidate, confirm the countries where its service is available and distinguish those from countries with a documented edge POP. Alibaba Cloud’s DCDN page illustrates why the distinction matters: it lists POP locations separately from applicable service areas. Ask providers to confirm coverage for your specific account, product, and target countries rather than assuming a nearby city serves every market equally.

Mainland China

If China is required, ask each provider directly about eligibility, required local arrangements or approvals, which product serves the traffic, supported content types, operational constraints, and the applicable billing. Get the answer in writing for your intended deployment. The cited provider details here do not establish those conditions, so neither a general Asia coverage statement nor a POP list is enough to make the decision.

Content and origin architecture

Write down what the CDN will deliver: static files, frequently changing pages, APIs, downloads, or video. Confirm the relevant cache controls, invalidation behavior, protocol and security requirements, and any restrictions for dynamic or personalized responses. Record the origin’s location and expected request rate as well as its bandwidth; a CDN’s usefulness depends partly on how traffic reaches and reuses content from that origin.

TP-Link AC1200 WiFi Router Dual Band Wireless Internet Router (Archer A54)
  • Dual-band Wi-Fi with 5 GHz speeds up to 867 Mbps and 2.4 GHz speeds up to 300 Mbps, delivering 1200 Mbps of total bandwidth¹. Dual-band routers do not support 6 GHz. Performance varies by conditions, distance to devices, and obstacles such as walls.
  • Covers up to 1,000 sq. ft. with four external antennas for stable wireless connections and optimal coverage.
  • Supports IGMP Proxy/Snooping, Bridge and Tag VLAN to optimize IPTV streaming
  • Access Point Mode - Supports AP Mode to transform your wired connection into wireless network, an ideal wireless router for home
  • Advanced Security with WPA3 - The latest Wi-Fi security protocol, WPA3, brings new capabilities to improve cybersecurity in personal networks

CloudFront’s Origin Shield documentation provides one concrete configuration consideration: AWS identifies selected Origin Shield regions and recommends selecting one with low latency to the origin. Its presence does not itself predict a higher cache-hit rate or lower bill for a particular workload; test the configuration with your own objects and traffic.

Security, support, and operations

Compare the security controls you actually require, such as TLS configuration, access restrictions, and protection against unwanted traffic, along with the support tier, escalation route, logging, and incident visibility offered for your account. The cited coverage pages do not establish a comparable security or support feature set across these providers, so verify these details in the current product documentation and contract.

Billing and total cost

Compare more than the headline transfer rate. Build an estimate using your expected regional traffic, requests, cache misses and origin egress, security features, support, and any optional services. Model both normal and peak traffic if your provider bills by different units or offers different purchase models.

Alibaba Cloud documents pay-as-you-go and prepaid resource plans and describes transfer and peak-bandwidth billing. Its billing overview says reference prices are subordinate to the current pricing page, so do not treat an old example price as a guaranteed current rate. Confirm current regional prices and the billing rules for the exact CDN or DCDN product you plan to use.

Run a workload-specific comparison

Before committing, trial the finalists using a representative test plan. A broad POP count or a single speed test cannot substitute for results from your users’ locations, networks, and content.

  1. Select representative traffic. Choose the target countries and important mobile and fixed-line ISPs, then test from those locations and networks where practical.
  2. Use representative content and origins. Include the real mix of static, dynamic, API, or video requests, realistic object sizes and cache rules, and the origin location you expect to use.
  3. Check cache behavior. Inspect response headers and CDN logs to distinguish cache hits from misses. Track cache-hit ratio and origin request or bandwidth load rather than assuming a nearby POP means content is being served from cache.
  4. Measure performance and errors. Compare p50 and p95 response latency, error rates, and timeouts across the same locations, networks, and test periods. Keep test conditions consistent and repeat tests at representative times.
  5. Estimate the bill from observed traffic. Apply each provider’s current regional billing rules to measured transfer, requests, cache misses, origin egress, and selected add-ons. Include the support and security options you would actually deploy.
  6. Review operational fit. Confirm that the provider’s support path, logs, configuration workflow, and incident process meet your team’s needs before moving production traffic.

Make the decision without a misleading “fastest in Asia” ranking

Shortlist candidates that can serve your target countries and meet any China, workload, security, and support requirements. Then compare their trial results and total cost under the same conditions. CloudFront has documented coverage across many Asia-Pacific locations and a documented Origin Shield option; Alibaba Cloud publishes distinct DCDN POP and service-area information plus multiple billing models; CDNetworks describes broad Southeast Asia deployment. Those facts can help decide whom to evaluate, but they do not establish which provider will perform best or cost least for your traffic.
