If Breece Hall is confirmed inactive, first compare the eligible running backs already on your roster. If none is a sound fit, check waiver options—Braelon Allen was a notable Jets-specific add in NFL.com’s Week 4, 2026 report—and then weigh every eligible running back and flex option against your league’s scoring and lineup rules. Hall’s status and Allen’s role can change from week to week, so verify current information before setting your lineup.
Confirm Hall is actually inactive
Inactives are time-sensitive. Check the current official NFL inactive report and Hall’s status in your fantasy platform rather than relying on an older injury update. ESPN says it uses the NFL’s official injury and inactive list for fantasy injury status: ESPN’s fantasy injury-status guidance.
The available reports describe different dates and should not be conflated. NFL.com’s Week 4, 2026 waiver report said Hall injured his thigh in the Jets’ loss at Detroit and, after an MRI on his quad, was considered week to week. Separately, the Jets’ official report lists Hall as inactive for the January 4, 2026 season finale against Buffalo; that historical listing does not establish his status for Week 4 or any later game: Jets’ January 4, 2026 inactives.

Check your roster before using a waiver move
Start with the players you can legally place in Hall’s lineup slot. A rostered back may be a better choice than a new pickup if his expected workload and role suit your scoring. Don’t choose by name recognition alone: compare the likely touches, receiving involvement if your league rewards catches, and goal-line opportunity.

Evaluate Braelon Allen as a conditional waiver candidate
NFL.com’s Week 4, 2026 fantasy waiver report ranked Jets running back Braelon Allen as its top running-back waiver target. It said he could offer RB2 production if Hall missed significant time—a conditional, week-specific assessment, not a guarantee or a universal reason to start Allen over a player already on your roster. The report listed Allen as rostered in 14% of leagues, a snapshot from that NFL.com article rather than a current or stable ownership rate: NFL.com’s Week 4, 2026 waiver report.

Before adding or starting Allen, check whether he is available in your league and look for newer information about Hall’s status, Jets backfield usage, and practice participation. A waiver recommendation from one week does not establish Allen’s role in a later game.

The cited reporting identifies Allen as a waiver candidate, but it does not provide enough information to rank every possible replacement for your league.
