Check your EPF passbook by signing in to EPFO’s Member Passbook portal with your UAN and password. To track a claim, use EPFO’s “Know Your Claim Status” lookup with the EPFO office and PF account number. You can also use UMANG for passbook viewing and claim tracking.
Check your EPF passbook through the EPFO portal
- Open the official EPF Passbook & Claim Status page.
- Enter your UAN and password, then complete the displayed captcha.
- After signing in, open the passbook for the relevant member ID to view the available account statement.
Use the official EPFO domain and do not share your login details with anyone offering to check the passbook for you.
Check an EPFO claim’s status
- Open EPFO’s employee services page and choose “Know Your Claim Status.” EPFO’s help instructions describe the status lookup.
- Select the EPFO office where the account is maintained.
- Enter the PF account number. If the account has no extension, leave the extension field blank.
- Submit the details to see the claim information available through the lookup.
This claim-status lookup is distinct from viewing a passbook: a passbook balance or entry does not, by itself, establish the progress of a pending claim. EPFO’s instructions do not establish a general current processing deadline or explain every status label, so do not infer a settlement date from the lookup alone.

Use UMANG for passbook viewing or claim tracking
EPFO lists “View Passbook” and claim tracking among services available through UMANG. Open the official UMANG app or service and select the EPFO service you need. EPFO’s member portal also says existing UANs can be activated or generated through UMANG.

If your passbook is not available
Members of an exempted establishment may not see a passbook in the UAN portal. EPFO advises those members to contact their establishment for a PF statement.
Protect your EPFO account and personal details
Use official EPFO websites and the official UMANG app. EPFO warns: “Please never respond to any call for sharing any personal details like Aadhaar, PAN, Bank details, OTP or request for any payment.” Do not give callers your UAN, password, Aadhaar, PAN, bank details or OTP, and do not pay someone claiming they can release your funds. EPFO says it does not ask members to deposit money.
