Start with Broadcom’s Partner and Distributor Locator. Search the seller’s exact name and the country or region where your organization will buy; select VMware and a relevant partner type if those filters are available. Then confirm the exact transaction with the seller—and with Broadcom if the listing or seller’s claim is unclear. A directory match is a useful check, not proof that the company may sell every VMware product in every territory.
1. Search Broadcom’s official locator
- Open the Broadcom Partner and Distributor Locator.
- Enter the reseller’s exact name and your buyer location. Broadcom says the locator can search by name, city, state or province, country, partner type, and product.
- Choose VMware as the product and the relevant partner type if the available filters allow it. Broadcom describes the locator as a way to find local resellers or global distributors.
- Review whether the result appears relevant to VMware and the location for your intended purchase or renewal. Do not treat a name match by itself as confirmation of authorization for your specific deal.
Broadcom describes the locator’s purpose as helping customers “find the local expertise you need to be successful with Broadcom solutions.” The locator is the primary public starting point for this check.
2. Confirm that the listing covers your transaction
The public guidance reviewed does not define the scope of authorization for each individual listing or establish a universal certificate that conclusively proves a seller’s authority. Before paying, ask the proposed seller to confirm in writing:

- The legal entity that will contract with you and issue the invoice.
- Your organization’s country or delivery destination.
- The specific VMware product and whether the transaction is a new purchase or a renewal.
- The territory covered by the proposed sale.
These details matter because a listed company’s presence does not, by itself, establish that the same entity can supply every product, customer, or cross-border transaction. Broadcom’s support guidance directs customers seeking VMware purchase or renewal help in a particular country or region to the Partner Locator.

3. Resolve missing or unclear results before ordering
If the reseller does not appear, the result is ambiguous, or it conflicts with what the seller says, pause before paying. Contact Broadcom through the locator or use VMware’s How to Buy VMware page to contact sales. Give them the seller’s legal name, your location, product, and transaction type so they can address the proposed deal rather than a general claim about the company.
4. Check the purchasing route
Broadcom support describes two routes: customers can purchase through Broadcom Authorized Distributors in their country or region, while customers with Direct Purchasing Agreements register to order online. 5. Compare sellers if more than one is listed
A directory result can help identify candidates, but it does not settle which one is best for your purchase. Compare the details that affect your contract and support:

- Whether the seller confirms it handles your VMware product and purchase or renewal type.
- Which organization will provide support and how issues are escalated.
- Which entities will contract, bill, and deliver the order, as stated in the written quote.
Broadcom’s published locator identifies geography, product, and partner type as lookup dimensions; the additional comparison points above are practical procurement checks, not formal Broadcom qualification criteria.
