To check whether DLSS 5 will work, verify two separate things: your graphics hardware supports DLSS 5’s 3D-Guided Neural Rendering, and the game has integrated that feature. NVIDIA’s current compatibility information lists GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs, including laptop GPUs, for local use. NBA 2K27 is the released game NVIDIA documents with DLSS 5. A generic “DLSS supported” label does not confirm DLSS 5 support.
Check your GPU for DLSS 5 specifically
NVIDIA calls the DLSS 5 feature 3D-Guided Neural Rendering. Its DLSS Technology compatibility table distinguishes this feature from Super Resolution, Frame Generation, Ray Reconstruction, and DLAA. The table lists GeForce RTX 50 Series for DLSS 5; NVIDIA’s September 2026 FAQ also includes RTX 50 Series laptop GPUs.
That distinction matters because earlier RTX cards support some other DLSS components. A game or GPU described simply as “DLSS compatible” may support a different feature and is not, by itself, evidence of DLSS 5 compatibility. NVIDIA’s FAQ says DLSS 5 is designed to work alongside ray tracing or path tracing, Super Resolution, Frame Generation, and Ray Reconstruction; it is an additional rendering feature, not another name for those features. DLSS 5 is optional.

GPU support alone is not enough: the game must include an integration. NVIDIA identifies NBA 2K27 as the DLSS 5 launch title. As of October 3, 2026, this is the released title NVIDIA documents with DLSS 5 availability. Treat that as a confirmed example, not a guarantee about other games or future integrations.
#1 Best Overall
- Powered by Radeon RX 9070 XT
- WINDFORCE Cooling System
- Hawk Fan
- Server-grade Thermal Conductive Gel
- RGB Lighting
NVIDIA’s announcement described DLSS 5 as a real-time neural rendering model that uses a game’s color and motion-vector inputs to add lighting and material detail, grounded in the game’s source 3D content. NVIDIA says developers can control intensity, color grading, and masking. These are NVIDIA’s descriptions of the technology, not independent performance measurements.
Enable DLSS 5 in NBA 2K27
NVIDIA’s launch instructions for NBA 2K27 specify the following steps. Menu labels and shortcuts may differ in other games.
Rank #2
- Powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4
- Powered by GeForce RTX 5070 Ti
- Integrated with 16GB GDDR7 256bit memory interface
- PCIe 5.0
- WINDFORCE cooling system
- Install the current Game Ready Driver. For the September 3, 2026 launch instructions, NVIDIA pointed players to driver 616.64 through the NVIDIA driver page or NVIDIA app. Check NVIDIA for a newer driver before playing.
- Launch NBA 2K27 and open Video Settings.
- Turn on DLSS Neural Rendering.
NVIDIA also says the game supports an F9 toggle for DLSS 5 in-game and in replays. The setting can be switched off; do not assume that another DLSS option in the menu enables Neural Rendering.
Use GeForce NOW if your local GPU is not supported
NVIDIA documents another way to play NBA 2K27 with DLSS 5: stream it through GeForce NOW. This is a cloud-rendering route rather than local RTX 50 Series support. NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW announcement and FAQ specify an Ultimate membership, an NVIDIA-operated supported region, and a cloud session running on an RTX 5080-powered rig. Availability therefore depends on your region and the rig assigned to the session; a local RTX 50 card is not required for this documented cloud option.

- Powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4. System Requirements: Minimum 850W PSU with 16-pin 12V-2x6 (12VHPWR) connector required. Verify before purchasing.
- Military-grade components deliver rock-solid power and longer lifespan for ultimate durability. Compatibility: 348mm (13.7") length, 3.6 slots, 4.3 lbs. Confirm case clearance and slot spacing. GPU bracket included.
- Protective PCB coating helps protect against short circuits caused by moisture, dust, or debris
- 3.6-slot design with massive fin array optimized for airflow from three Axial-tech fans
- Phase-change GPU thermal pad helps ensure optimal thermal performance and longevity, outlasting traditional thermal paste for graphics cards under heavy loads
Quick compatibility check
- Local play: Check that the GPU is GeForce RTX 50 Series, including a laptop GPU, and that the game specifically lists DLSS 5 or 3D-Guided Neural Rendering.
- NBA 2K27: Install the current Game Ready Driver and enable “DLSS Neural Rendering” in Video Settings.
- Cloud play: For the documented NBA 2K27 route, confirm GeForce NOW Ultimate and supported regional and RTX 5080 rig availability.
- Other games: Verify the game’s own support information; the presence of other DLSS features does not establish DLSS 5 integration.
Hardware support and game integrations can change. Check NVIDIA’s live DLSS compatibility table and the game’s current support or settings information before relying on an older compatibility list.
