Generally, no—don’t assume an LG pedestal will fit or be approved for a Samsung washer. The manufacturers’ guidance reviewed does not establish a cross-brand pairing. Check the exact washer and pedestal model numbers with Samsung and LG before buying or installing one.
Why an LG pedestal is not automatically compatible
A pedestal needs more than a similar footprint to fit safely. Its mounting points, clips or brackets, hardware, and the washer’s feet must work together. LG’s installation instructions describe bracket-type attachment on some models and T-clip attachment on newer ones, underscoring why matching widths alone do not confirm a fit. LG’s front-load pedestal installation help also directs installers to level and secure both appliances.
“Pedestal” can mean either a storage riser or a functional pedestal washer. LG SideKick is the latter, so its compatibility rules should not be treated as universal rules for every storage pedestal. The material reviewed does not document an LG-pedestal/Samsung-washer combination.

LG SideKick has an explicit LG washer requirement
LG says its SideKick pedestal washer must go beneath a matching front-loading LG washer manufactured after 2009, and that it will not operate on its own. LG specifies a 27-inch SideKick for a 27-inch LG front-loader and a 29-inch version for a 29-inch LG front-loader. These requirements apply to SideKick, not automatically to every LG storage pedestal. See LG’s SideKick placement guidance.

How to find a pedestal for your Samsung washer
- Find both model numbers. Record the full Samsung washer model from its product label. Find the LG pedestal’s model and revision on its label or drawer sticker.
- Check Samsung’s compatibility information for the exact washer model. Samsung advises owners to identify the correct pedestal or riser for their washer and search Samsung Parts for compatible products. Start with Samsung’s installation help.
- Ask before using a cross-brand combination. If Samsung’s compatibility information does not list the exact pedestal, contact Samsung and LG with both model numbers. Ask whether the pairing is approved and whether the mounting hardware is suitable.
- Confirm installation acceptance. Samsung’s US delivery instructions say its installation team will not install a washer on an old or generic non-Samsung pedestal. That is a service policy, not a published test of every possible physical combination. Check Samsung’s delivery instructions and confirm arrangements with your installer.
A Samsung pedestal example is not a universal fit
Samsung lists the 27-inch WE402NW/A3 pedestal for selected front-load series 8300, 6300, and 6000. That listing is one model-specific example, not evidence that the pedestal fits every Samsung washer. Verify compatibility for your washer through Samsung’s current lookup or the WE402NW/A3 product listing.

- Exact washer model and pedestal model or revision
- Whether the pedestal is a storage drawer or a functional pedestal washer
- Appliance width and depth
- Mounting feet, clips, brackets, and included hardware
- Whether the washer manufacturer and installer approve the pairing
A matching width or color is not proof of compatibility. LG’s pedestal catalog lists storage models such as WDP6A and WDP8B as LG laundry accessories; that listing does not establish compatibility with a Samsung washer.
