To check whether an Infinix phone can work on your carrier, identify its exact model and regional variant, compare its published LTE and 5G NR bands with the carrier’s bands in your country, and enter the phone’s IMEI in the carrier’s official compatibility checker. A matching band shows possible radio overlap—not guaranteed activation, voice service, or coverage.
1. Identify the exact Infinix model and regional variant
Do not rely only on a family name such as “HOT” or “ZERO.” The same phone family can have different radio support by model or region. Find the full model code in Settings → About phone or on the packaging, and note the country or region where the phone was sold.
For example, Infinix’s ZERO 5G 2023 Global specifications identify model X6815C. The page lists LTE FDD bands B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B7, B8, B20, B28, and B66, as well as LTE TDD bands B38, B40, and B41, alongside 5G NR bands. Treat this as an example of how to read a specification, not evidence that the phone works on a particular carrier.

Infinix’s HOT 40 Colombia specifications list that regional model’s supported bands and warn: “Bandwidth availability and connectivity can vary depending on region and local service provider.” Check the specification for your exact variant rather than transferring a band list from a similarly named phone.

2. Find the IMEI and check the carrier’s eligibility
The carrier’s device checker can determine whether it accepts the phone’s identifier. To find the IMEI, dial *#06#, look in the phone settings, or check the packaging; Infinix describes these options on its IMEI Authentication page. Dual-SIM phones may show more than one IMEI, so enter the identifier the carrier requests.
- Open the official compatibility or bring-your-own-device checker for the carrier and country you plan to use.
- Enter the phone’s IMEI and follow the result. For example, T-Mobile’s BYOD guide directs users to its IMEI checker; AT&T’s BYOD page asks for the device’s ESN or IMEI; and Verizon’s prepaid BYOD page provides a compatibility check.
- If the checker says the phone is incompatible, locked, or cannot be verified, do not treat a band match as approval. Recheck the model variant and identifier, then ask the carrier whether it supports that specific device.

3. Compare LTE and 5G bands separately
Find the carrier’s current frequency information for your country, then compare it with the official specification for your exact Infinix variant. Match LTE bands to LTE bands and 5G NR bands to 5G NR bands. A shared band means the phone may have radio overlap with part of the carrier’s network; it does not establish that the carrier will activate the phone or that service will work everywhere.

- 5G: Compare the carrier’s 5G NR bands with the phone’s 5G NR bands. LTE support alone does not confirm 5G compatibility.
4. Confirm the conditions a band list cannot answer
A band comparison cannot confirm that the phone is unlocked, that its IMEI is eligible, or that the carrier supports the voice and other services you need. T-Mobile says an imported device must be unlocked and support its frequencies; it also cautions that high-speed LTE coverage is not guaranteed in every area and device experiences may vary. If the checker is inconclusive, ask the carrier specifically about your model’s activation, voice service including VoLTE where relevant, supported features, and coverage where you plan to use it.

What to do before buying or switching
- Get the full model code and region of sale from the seller; do not rely on the product-family name alone.
- Check the IMEI in the intended carrier’s official tool when possible, and confirm the phone is unlocked.
- Compare the exact variant’s LTE and 5G NR bands with the carrier’s current bands in your country.
- If the carrier confirms the phone is unsupported, choose a carrier-approved replacement rather than relying on partial band overlap.
