To find out whether a game is included, search the service’s official catalog and verify the membership tier, platform, region, and current availability status. A listing alone may not mean that your plan or device can access it, and subscription catalogs change over time.
What to check before you search
- Membership: Confirm the plan you have or are considering. Each service separates some games or benefits by tier.
- Platform: Make sure the listing applies to the console or device you intend to use.
- Region: Catalogs and availability can differ by country or region. The official pages linked below are primarily US-facing; Nintendo’s support guidance is for the Americas.
- Status: Distinguish a game available now from one announced as coming soon or marked as leaving.
Check a game on PlayStation Plus
- Open PlayStation’s A–Z catalog and game finder and search for the title.
- If it appears, check which category it is in: Monthly Games, Game Catalog, Classics Catalog, or a game trial.
- Match that category to your plan. Essential includes the monthly selection; Extra adds Game Catalog access; Premium adds Classics Catalog access and trials. Premium also allows streaming of many catalog and classic titles.
- For Monthly Games, claim the game while it is available through the PlayStation Plus area on PS5 or PS4. Sony says these games can be downloaded and played at no extra cost during an active membership. They remain playable while that membership is active.
- Check the PlayStation Plus hub on your console for the complete list available in your country or region.
Monthly Games are different from the rotating Game Catalog and Classics Catalog. Finding a title in one category does not establish that it is included in another plan or category.
Check a game on Xbox Game Pass
- Open Xbox’s Game Pass games page and search for the title.
- Set the subscription and platform filters to match your membership and the Xbox or other platform you plan to use.
- Check the page’s Recently added, Coming to Game Pass, and Leaving soon collections. These distinguish a current listing from an announced arrival or departure.
- If a game is marked Leaving soon, verify its live status before deciding whether to play or purchase it. Xbox also provides a member-discount prompt for titles leaving soon; check the terms shown on the title’s page.
Check a game on Nintendo Switch Online
First determine whether you are checking for a classic-game library or selected downloadable content (DLC) for a particular game. Nintendo Switch Online’s classic libraries and included DLC are distinct benefits, and membership type matters.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute- On Nintendo Switch, open Nintendo eShop under a user with an active membership. Select Nintendo Switch Online and then the relevant classic-game library.
- On Switch 2, select Nintendo Switch Online from the HOME Menu, choose Nintendo Classics, and select the library you want to check.
- Compare the offering with your membership. Standard membership includes selected NES, Super NES, and Game Boy classics; Expansion Pack adds further classic libraries and selected DLC. Some offerings are limited to particular systems.
- Check the specific hardware and game requirements. For example, Nintendo GameCube – Nintendo Classics is for Switch 2 with Expansion Pack. Selected included DLC requires the full base game, and access depends on an active eligible membership.
Nintendo’s Expansion Pack overview and support pages explain current benefits. For access steps, see How to Access the Nintendo Classics Game Libraries and the Nintendo Classics overview and FAQ.

How to interpret a result
| Service | What to verify | Common distinction |
|---|---|---|
| PlayStation Plus | Plan, category, console, and region | Monthly Games, Game Catalog, Classics Catalog, and trials are separate categories. |
| Xbox Game Pass | Subscription filter, platform filter, and live status | Recently added, Coming to Game Pass, and Leaving soon indicate different timing. |
| Nintendo Switch Online | Membership type, console, library or DLC, and game requirements | Classic-library access is not the same as selected DLC access; some offers need the base game. |
If a search returns no result, check the spelling and try the service’s console or regional catalog. If it does return a result, do not treat it as confirmation until the plan, device, region, and current status match your situation.
