For official headline figures, start with dated releases from Uzbekistan’s National Statistics Committee. To find imports or exports for a particular product and trading partner, use UN Comtrade and specify the reporter, partner, product classification and code, period, and trade flow. Those settings determine what the results mean and let someone else reproduce your lookup.

Choose the right source for your question

Uzbekistan’s National Statistics Committee publishes dated foreign-trade releases that provide official country-level context and identify whether figures are preliminary. For example, its January–December 2025 release reports goods and services separately. It gives aggregate totals, not a product-by-partner breakdown.

For a query by product and trading partner, use the UN Comtrade query interface. The interface lets you select the dimensions needed for a product-specific lookup. The available country detail and periods depend on reporting; UN Comtrade says it updates data as official information arrives, with no fixed posting schedule for individual countries.

Run a product-by-partner query in UN Comtrade

  1. Set the period and frequency. Choose annual or monthly data, then select the year or months you need. Use the same period when comparing results.
  2. Set Uzbekistan as the reporter. This makes Uzbekistan the reporting economy. Choose a specific partner for a bilateral result, World for an aggregate, or multiple partners when you need partner-level rows. UN Comtrade’s guide explains the query dimensions and partner selection.
  3. Select the product classification and code. Choose a supported classification, such as HS, SITC, BEC, or as-reported, then enter a commodity code or select total trade. A product description alone is not enough to make a query reproducible: the same phrase may map differently across classification systems. Record both the classification and code.
  4. Choose imports or exports. Select the relevant trade flow. To compare imports with exports, run separate queries and keep all other settings aligned.
  5. Review the result and its status. Check the selected period, partner scope, product code, flow, and available value or quantity measures. Use the national release’s stated status when citing its figures; do not treat preliminary data as final.

Make the result reproducible and comparable

When you save or share a result, include the publisher, period, flow, classification and code, partner, measure, and release status where stated. These are not incidental labels: changing any of them can change the result or make it unsuitable for comparison.

  • Compare like with like: the same period, import or export flow, classification and code, partner scope, and value or quantity measure.
  • Keep national headline context separate from a Comtrade product query. They answer different questions and may not have matching scope or status.
  • Note whether a national figure is preliminary. For Comtrade, note when you retrieved the data because country posting times vary.

Know the access and availability limits

UN Comtrade’s public preview is capped at 500 records. Download and delivery limits vary with registration or subscription, and access terms may change. For repeated or large extractions, consult the current UN Comtrade API documentation and access guidance before designing a workflow around a particular limit.

UNdata provides another access point to a Comtrade record, but its record metadata and last-update date should not be mistaken for the latest period available in the live Comtrade query interface: UNdata Comtrade record.

Example: use a national release for headline context

The National Statistics Committee’s January–December 2025 release reports goods imports of USD 42,083.9 million and service imports of USD 5,270.6 million. These are separate national aggregate figures, not totals for a particular product or partner. The Committee also published a distinct release for preliminary January 2026 foreign-trade data; use the release’s date and preliminary status when citing it.

The Committee’s releases are useful for official dated context. The documented Comtrade workflow is the practical route for filtering by product and trading partner; the available detail depends on what has been reported.
