These are availability reports, not necessarily explanations of a player’s medical condition. A report—or the absence of a player’s name—does not by itself confirm an injury diagnosis or prove that the player is healthy.
Where to find UTEP’s official availability report
Start with the Mountain West’s Availability Reporting page, where the conference says its public reports are posted. Look for the football report and verify that it matches UTEP’s opponent and the game date.
UTEP joined the Mountain West on July 1, 2026, after 21 years in Conference USA. Its official schedule lists Oct. 3 at New Mexico as the team’s first Mountain West game. The NCAA directory also lists UTEP football in the Mountain West for the 2026–27 academic year (NCAA directory).

How to check availability for a particular game
- Open the Mountain West report page. Go to the conference’s Availability Reporting page and locate the football report.
- Match the report to the game. Confirm the opponent and date against UTEP’s official schedule, particularly if UTEP has more than one report listed.
- Check twice. The conference describes an initial update before game day and a final report on game day before kickoff. It does not state exact posting times on the accessible page, so do not assume a particular hour.
- Use team pages for context, not as substitutes. UTEP’s statistics page records results and player statistics; its game notes include press-conference and interview information. Neither is the Mountain West availability report.
- Describe only what the official page establishes. If the report is not readable or does not name a player, the public information you checked does not establish that player’s status.
What an availability report does—and does not—tell you
The Mountain West describes its policy as a way to standardize availability reporting while supporting competitive integrity, transparency, student-athlete privacy, and public confidence. An availability designation concerns whether a player can participate; it should not be treated as a confirmed medical diagnosis or an explanation of why the player may be unavailable.
The accessible conference page establishes the broad reporting stages, but does not provide readable detail on every status term or which players must be listed. Avoid inferring more than the report says, and do not translate an unnamed player into “healthy” or “out.”

Which policy applies to the game?
The Mountain West says its 2026–27 policy covers football regular-season conference games and Mountain West championships. That makes its report page the primary source for UTEP league games. The College Football Playoff has a separate policy: participating teams submit reports beginning three days before a playoff game, update them daily, and provide a final report 90 minutes before game time (CFP availability policy). Those CFP deadlines should not be applied to Mountain West regular-season games.

If the report is missing or unclear
- Recheck the conference page on game day, since the Mountain West describes a final report before kickoff.
- Confirm the matchup and date on UTEP’s official schedule before deciding that a report is missing.
- Use official team pages for season or media context, but do not treat statistics or interview schedules as player-availability updates.
- If no readable report or player listing is available, say that the player’s status is not established by the official public information you reviewed.
