Use Starlink’s official Availability Map, enter the complete Spanish address where the dish would be installed, choose the matching suggestion, and read the service status and plans shown for that location. A country- or town-level view cannot prove that a particular property can order service.
If the map shows “sold out,” residential capacity is full and new residential activations are unavailable at that time. If it shows availability, you must still check the proposed dish position for an unobstructed view of the sky. Because no individual property was supplied for a live lookup, this guide explains how to perform the check rather than claiming eligibility for a particular address.
What you need before checking
Have the exact address of the property that will receive the Starlink connection. The checker evaluates a service location, not the nearest town, province or postal area. If you are moving, check the address where the equipment will actually be used rather than a temporary correspondence address.
Starlink’s map is a live service tool. Availability, capacity and the plans displayed can change, so run the check again when you are ready to place an order. The result is an eligibility indication for that address; it is not a guarantee that every possible mounting position on the property will work.

How to check Starlink availability step by step
- Open the official map. Go to https://starlink.com/pr/map. Use the Starlink map rather than relying on a general satellite-coverage image or a result for a nearby town.
- Find the “Service Address” field. The page labels the address input “Service Address.” Enter the complete address where the Starlink service is intended to operate.
- Choose the matching suggestion. As you type, the map may offer locations. Select the suggestion that corresponds to the actual property. Confirm the municipality, street and other identifying details before continuing.
- Read the location result. The map will indicate whether service is available, pending, or sold out/at capacity for that area. Treat the result as address-specific: a green-looking region on a broad map does not substitute for the selected property.
- Review the plans shown. If the location can be served, examine the plans presented in the current order flow. Plans and availability are subject to change, so record the details only as a current snapshot and verify them again before payment or activation.
- Check the installation site. Before committing to hardware placement, use the Starlink app’s “Check for Obstructions” tool at the property. Walk to the proposed dish location and scan the sky from the actual mounting point, not just from a road or the center of the plot.
- Compare terrestrial alternatives if necessary. For fixed and mobile broadband context in Spain, consult the government’s Cobertura de Banda Ancha map. It is a complementary coverage resource, not a replacement for Starlink’s address checker.
Understanding the result shown for your address
| Map status | What it means | What to do next |
|---|---|---|
| Available | The map indicates that the area is available for service now. | Confirm the exact address, review the plans in the current order flow, and assess the dish location with the obstruction tool. |
| Pending | Coverage or regulatory approval is pending. This is not an indication that residential service can be ordered today. | Do not treat the location as orderable. Check the map again later rather than assuming a launch date. |
| Sold out / at capacity | Starlink says residential capacity in the region is full, so new residential activations are not possible at that time. | There is no reopening timeline supplied by Starlink. If the connection is for a business, investigate the business-availability path because it may differ. |
“Available” is an address result, not an installation guarantee
An available result means Starlink’s service map accepts the area for the service shown. It does not inspect your roof, balcony, garden or pole. Buildings, trees and other objects can block the dish’s view of moving satellites and cause interruptions. Complete the physical-site check before selecting a permanent mount.
“Pending” should not be presented as current service
Pending coverage or regulatory approval means the map does not establish that you can activate residential service now. Avoid making a purchase decision on the assumption that a pending area has a known start date; the map does not provide that assurance.
“Sold out” means capacity is unavailable now
Starlink’s Help Center explains that a sold-out residential region has reached capacity and cannot accept new residential activations at that time. Starlink does not publish an estimated date for reopening residential capacity. A sold-out residential result therefore differs from a temporary checkout error or an address-format problem.
What each status means for your decision
The three labels answer different questions. “Available” addresses whether the selected area is currently open for the service shown. “Pending” says coverage or regulatory approval is not complete, so there is no current residential order confirmation. “Sold out” says the residential capacity allocated to that region is full. It does not tell you when more capacity will be released, and it does not automatically answer whether a business product can be ordered.
Do not convert a map color or a broad regional outline into a promise about an individual property. Always retain the selected address and the precise label you saw. If you are comparing several homes, repeat the search for each one; one municipality can contain locations with different service outcomes.
Check the sky view at the actual property
Starlink’s installation guide says: “Your Starlink needs a clear view of the sky so it can stay connected with satellites as they move overhead.” The same guide warns that trees, poles and roofs can obstruct the connection and lead to service interruptions.
Use the app’s obstruction check
- Stand at the position where the dish could be installed.
- Open the Starlink app and run “Check for Obstructions.”
- Scan from the intended mounting height and direction, including the portions of sky that may be blocked by nearby branches, chimneys, parapets or neighboring structures.
- If the ground-level view is obstructed, consider whether a higher position, such as a roof, pole or wall, can provide a clearer view and can be mounted safely.
- Repeat the scan after choosing a different position; a clear result at one point does not validate another point on the property.
Address eligibility and sky visibility are separate checks. The map can accept your service location while the proposed dish position still produces interruptions. Plan the mounting point before drilling, buying an additional mount or arranging installation work.
Why the mounting position matters
A service address describes where the subscription is registered; it does not describe the view from every corner of the land. A roof ridge, wall, pole, garden or balcony can each have a different horizon. Nearby vegetation can also change over time. Check the precise position and height you intend to use, and repeat the scan if you relocate the dish. The app assessment should precede any decision to buy a mount or pay for installation work.
What to do when residential service is sold out
Do not assume a reopening date
Starlink states that it cannot provide a timeline for when a sold-out residential area will have capacity again. Rechecking periodically is the only way to see whether the map status changes; do not rely on an unofficial promise of a particular month or year.
Check whether business service follows a different path
Business-plan availability may differ from residential availability. If the connection is for a company, workplace or other business use, check the business option in Starlink’s current flow instead of concluding that every Starlink service is unavailable from the residential status alone. The residential sold-out message does not establish business eligibility or pricing.
Use the waiting period to verify the site and alternatives
While residential capacity is unavailable, confirm that the property has a practical unobstructed mounting location and compare terrestrial options on Spain’s government coverage map. This avoids treating a future Starlink activation as the only possible solution.

Use Spain’s official broadband map for comparison
Spain’s Secretaría de Estado de Telecomunicaciones e Infraestructuras Digitales publishes the Cobertura de Banda Ancha resource through Conectemos Digital. The map aggregates operator-reported fixed and mobile coverage using the government’s stated methodology and organizes information by autonomous community, province and municipality. The page is dated 7 May 2026.
Use this map to investigate terrestrial broadband context around the property: for example, whether fixed or mobile networks report coverage in the municipality. It measures terrestrial access, not Starlink satellite-service eligibility. A positive terrestrial result does not tell you whether Starlink is available, and a Starlink result does not replace the government map when you are comparing fixed or mobile alternatives.
How to compare the two tools
| Question | Starlink Availability Map | Spain’s government broadband map |
|---|---|---|
| Can this exact location order Starlink? | Yes, subject to the current address result and plan flow. | No; it is not Starlink’s order checker. |
| What type of network is represented? | Starlink satellite service. | Operator-reported fixed and mobile terrestrial coverage. |
| What geographic detail is useful? | The selected Service Address. | Autonomous community, province and municipality views. |
| What should be verified before committing? | The current plan and the dish’s unobstructed sky view. | The relevant terrestrial coverage information and the provider’s current offer. |
Neither map supplies a universal substitute for the other. Use Starlink’s tool to answer the orderability question, then use the government resource when fixed or mobile alternatives matter. When comparing offers, check the exact location, current plan and recurring price shown by each provider rather than copying figures from another address or an older page.
Common mistakes and how to correct them
Checking only the country or province
A broad shaded area can create the impression that every address is eligible. Return to the “Service Address” field and select the exact property suggestion. The service result belongs to that location, not to the entire province.

Using the nearest town instead of the installation address
Two properties in the same municipality can receive different capacity results. Enter the complete intended service address and verify the selected suggestion before interpreting the status.
Treating “pending” as an order confirmation
Pending means coverage or regulatory approval is still outstanding. It is not a current residential activation result and does not supply a guaranteed launch date.
Reading “sold out” as a technical fault
Sold out means residential capacity is full. Refreshing the browser or changing the address format will not create residential capacity. Check the address once for accuracy, then consider the business path or terrestrial alternatives.
Skipping the obstruction test after an available result
The map cannot see trees, poles or rooflines at your property. Run the app’s obstruction tool from the proposed mounting point and change the location or elevation if the sky view is blocked.

Assuming plans and prices remain fixed
The map’s plans are the options displayed for the address at the time you check. Availability and plans can change, so verify the current order summary again immediately before committing. Do not infer a price, speed or kit configuration from a result for another address or an older page.
Confusing a service address with a delivery address
The map asks for the “Service Address,” meaning the location where the connection will operate. If equipment will be delivered elsewhere or you have a separate correspondence address, do not substitute that address in the eligibility check. The property receiving the dish is the location that must be tested.
Ordering hardware before confirming eligibility
A Starlink Kit is a physical product, but buying hardware first does not establish that residential service can be activated at your property. Confirm the address status and current plan before selecting a kit or accessory. After eligibility is confirmed, check the live order flow for the model, compatibility, price and fulfillment details.

How to make a sound decision after the check
- Confirm the address result. Save the selected service address and status from the official map.
- Separate eligibility from practicality. An available status answers whether the area is currently serviceable; the obstruction scan answers whether your chosen installation point can maintain a satellite link.
- Review the current plan information. Use only the plans shown for that exact address in the live order flow. Treat them as changeable rather than permanent specifications.
- Resolve capacity limitations. If residential service is sold out, note that there is no Starlink reopening estimate. Determine whether business eligibility is relevant to your use case.
- Compare terrestrial coverage. Check Spain’s official broadband map for fixed and mobile coverage by the relevant autonomous community, province and municipality.
- Recheck before ordering. Repeat the address lookup and read the current terms, plan and availability immediately before placing an order because the map is dynamic.
What the address checker cannot establish by itself
- It cannot guarantee uninterrupted service from a particular roof, balcony, garden or pole; that requires the obstruction assessment at the proposed mounting point.
- It cannot turn a pending status into an orderable service or provide a guaranteed approval date.
- It cannot provide a reopening date for residential regions marked sold out.
- It cannot establish business eligibility from a residential result; business availability may follow a different path.
- It cannot serve as Spain’s general fixed- and mobile-broadband coverage map; use the government resource for that comparison.
- It should not be used to quote a plan, price, speed or equipment configuration for an address other than the one currently selected.
Hardware and installation planning after eligibility
Once the map shows an orderable option and the site passes the obstruction check, Starlink’s official materials refer to Starlink Kits and describe additional mounts and accessories as available for purchase. The exact kit, accessory compatibility, price and fulfillment status depend on the current order flow and are not established by the map result alone.
Choose the installation point only after checking the sky view. If ground level is obstructed, an elevated roof, pole or wall location may be appropriate, provided it can be mounted safely and maintained. The installation guide remains the reference for the physical setup; the availability map remains the reference for address-level service status.
When should you repeat the check?
Repeat the lookup when you are ready to order, after a move, and whenever the map’s status or plan display has changed. Starlink describes the map as a live availability tool, so a result saved weeks or months earlier is not a current commitment. Re-enter the Service Address, select the same property suggestion and review the plans in the active order flow before payment or activation.
Quick checklist
- Open Starlink’s official Availability Map.
- Enter the complete Spanish “Service Address.”
- Select the suggestion that matches the actual property.
- Record whether the result is Available, Pending or Sold out/at capacity.
- Review only the plans shown for that exact address.
- Run “Check for Obstructions” in the Starlink app at the intended dish location.
- If residential service is sold out, remember that Starlink gives no reopening timeline and check whether business availability is relevant.
- Compare fixed and mobile alternatives with Spain’s official Cobertura de Banda Ancha map.
- Repeat the lookup immediately before ordering.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I determine availability from a map of Spain without entering my address?
No. A broad country, province or town view cannot establish eligibility for a particular property. Enter the complete Service Address and select the matching suggestion in Starlink’s official map.
What does Available mean?
It means the selected area is indicated as available for the service shown now. Confirm the current plans in the order flow and test the proposed dish location for obstructions before ordering.

Pending indicates that service coverage or regulatory approval is still pending. It is not confirmation that residential service can be activated today, and it does not provide a guaranteed start date.
Can I order residential Starlink when the map says sold out?
No. Starlink says a sold-out region has reached residential capacity, so new residential activations are not possible at that time. Starlink does not provide an estimated reopening date.
Does sold out also rule out Starlink Business?
Not necessarily. Business-plan availability may follow a different pathway. Check the business option in Starlink’s current flow; the residential message does not establish business eligibility or pricing.
Why do I need the Starlink app after the address is accepted?
The address map does not inspect your roof, garden, balcony or pole. Trees, roofs and other obstructions can interrupt the satellite link, so use Check for Obstructions at the exact proposed mounting point.

No. Conectemos Digital’s Cobertura de Banda Ancha map provides government-organized context for operator-reported fixed and mobile terrestrial coverage by autonomous community, province and municipality. Starlink’s own address checker is required for Starlink eligibility.
Should I buy a kit before checking the address?
No. Confirm that the exact Service Address has an orderable option first. Then use the live order flow to verify the current kit, compatible mounts or accessories, price and fulfillment details.
The Bottom Line
Check the exact Spanish Service Address in Starlink’s official Availability Map, not just a regional map. Available means the area can currently be served; Pending is not a current order confirmation; Sold out means residential capacity is full with no published reopening date. After an eligible result, use the Starlink app to verify a clear sky view at the actual mounting point, then compare fixed and mobile alternatives on Spain’s official broadband map and recheck all plan details immediately before ordering.
