How to handle non-conference games
Do not assume the Pac-12’s standard conference-game timetable applies to every SDSU game. The conference says non-conference availability reporting occurs only when both the opponent and the opponent’s conference participate. Timing follows the participating opponent’s arrangement, so check the official report information for that game rather than applying the conference-game schedule automatically.

What an availability report can—and cannot—confirm
The Pac-12’s 2026 policy page says reports are intended “To promote the integrity of competition, protect the well-being and privacy of student-athletes and institutional staff, and provide consistent public transparency.” The policy page establishes where and when reports are published, but it does not define individual status labels in the policy text. Consult the actual report for the specific game before interpreting a player’s designation; don’t infer that a player is in or out from a label you have not verified.
- Check the date and game. Player availability is time-sensitive. Make sure the report applies to the matchup you are checking and note when you checked it.
- Don’t substitute indirect clues. Practice photos, depth charts, participation in a previous game, and rumors do not confirm current availability.
- If the report is missing or unclear, say so. Return to the official page later and avoid presenting an unconfirmed status as fact.
