For an indicative IndianOil price, text RSP <space> Dealer Code of Petrol Pump to 92249 92249. Use the code for the relevant location, and check the price displayed at your specific pump before fuelling: IndianOil says prices can vary between outlets in the same city or sales area.
Get an indicative local price by SMS
- Open IndianOil’s official Petrol and Diesel Price page and find the dealer code for the location you want to check. The page provides example codes for many cities.
- For an individual outlet, use its dealer code. IndianOil says the code is displayed at the pump premises.
- Send
RSP <space> Dealer Code of Petrol Pumpto92249 92249. For example, the IndianOil page gives New Delhi codeRSP 102090. - Read the reply as an indicative price for that location, not a guarantee of the price at every nearby outlet.
Check the timing and the actual pump price
IndianOil states: “Daily price changes for Petrol & Diesel are effected at 6 am every day.” Query on the day you need the price rather than relying on an old message or saved figure. Prices may differ among outlets within a city, town or sales area, so check the price displayed at the particular pump before fuelling.
Use the right official source for the question
- A nearby IndianOil station: Search by city or locality using the IndianOil Locator/Finder, then use that outlet’s displayed dealer code for the SMS lookup.
- State-level rates and price components: The Government of India’s Petroleum Planning & Analysis Cell (PPAC) price build-up page links state RSP material and petrol and diesel price components. PPAC reported the page was last updated on 10 September 2026. It provides state context, not a guarantee of the price at a particular pump.
- Verified fuel information: The Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas advises consumers to rely on official oil marketing company communications and authorised agencies. See the Press Information Bureau notice.
Make a useful price comparison
When comparing two results, note whether each is for petrol or diesel, the city or sales area, the outlet if known, and the date and time checked. A city-level indicative SMS result, a state RSP or price-build-up resource, and a pump’s posted price answer different questions. No city or outlet is specified here, so there is no single current rupee-per-litre figure to report.
