For Pakistan Railways, check your exact train or route and travel date on the official Train Timings page or its train and route search. You can also search a journey on RABTA, which lists call center 117. A timetable shows planned service; it does not by itself confirm that a train is currently on time or running. Recheck near departure and contact 117 or a reservation office if you suspect a disruption.
What to have ready before checking
Gather the details that distinguish your journey from other services:
- Your origin and destination stations.
- The exact travel date.
- The train name or number, if you know it.
Search with the date you will travel, not just a route or a remembered timetable. Schedules and operating conditions can change.
How to check Pakistan Railways train timings online
Use the official Train Timings page
- Open the Pakistan Railways Train Timings page.
- Enter or select your travel date using the page’s date field.
- Check the displayed timing for your journey. Confirm that the date and train or route match your ticket.
This is the direct option for a date-specific timetable lookup. Treat the result as scheduled information, not confirmation of a train’s live operating status.

Search by route, train, or station
Pakistan Railways’ train and route search supports searches by departure and arrival, train name or number, and station. The tool provides route, timing, and fare fields. Use the search mode that best matches what you know: a train number is useful when you already have a ticket, while station or departure-and-arrival searches can help when you are planning a route.
Search the journey in RABTA
- Open RABTA’s journey search.
- Enter the From and To stations, Departure Date, and a Departure Time window.
- Review the results when available, including train, route, time, duration, class, and remarks.
RABTA’s page lists call center 117. The service may require JavaScript, and a page snapshot returned “No Data”; if the search fails or shows no result, retry or use phone or station assistance rather than assuming no train operates.
How to check whether a train is delayed or cancelled
Use the timetable to identify the planned service, then verify a suspected disruption close to departure. Check the official pages again and contact 117 or the relevant reservation office for a current, train-specific answer. If you are already at the station, ask station staff in person.

Pakistan Railways’ FAQ describes reservation-status checks by telephone with reservation offices, in person, through the conductor guard, or through an account dashboard before departure. These are reservation-status channels; the FAQ does not establish that they provide guaranteed live train-location tracking or automatic delay alerts.
Do not rely on an alert as your only check
The Auditor-General of Pakistan’s Information Systems Audit report on the computerized reservation and e-ticketing system, for audit year 2022–23, reported that “SMS service was not available in case of late or cancelled trains.” The report also described integration gaps between e-ticketing, the computerized reservation system, and Pak Rail Live during the period examined. This is a historical audit finding, not proof of how every service works today.
A Ministry of Railways restructuring plan dated 23 February 2026 describes RABTA for online booking and passenger facilitation and mentions development of real-time train-monitoring applications. That plan does not establish that passengers currently receive integrated, dependable delay or cancellation alerts. Verify your own train through an official channel rather than assuming an app notification will arrive.

Check your ticket details before leaving
Pakistan Railways’ FAQ advises passengers to verify the train number, journey date, berth or seat number, and passenger name before leaving the reservation counter. Keep those details available when you call or ask at the station so staff can identify the booking and service you mean.
