For a North Dakota State (NDSU) game against a Mountain West opponent, check the league’s official Availability Reporting page and open the football report for that game. The Mountain West says it issues a pre-gameday update and a final report before kickoff, so revisit the listing close to the game. For a nonconference matchup, check NDSU’s official game and team channels; the league policy does not establish coverage for those games.
Check the report for the specific NDSU game
- Identify the matchup and date. Open the official NDSU football schedule, find the game, and use its game-center link if available.
- If NDSU is playing a Mountain West opponent, open the league report. Visit the Mountain West Availability Reporting page and find the football report for that game or week. The football reports hub is another official entry point.
- Check again near kickoff. The conference describes a pre-gameday update followed by a final gameday report before kickoff. An earlier listing may not reflect the latest status.
- For a nonconference game, check NDSU’s official channels. Look at the NDSU football page, the game center, team news, and press-conference materials for an explicit update.
Which source applies to each game?
| Game type | Where to check | What the published policy establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Mountain West regular-season game or conference championship | Mountain West Availability Reporting and its football reports hub | The Mountain West says public availability reports apply to conference regular-season games and Mountain West Championships during the 2026–27 football season. It describes a pre-gameday update and a final report before kickoff. |
| NDSU nonconference game | NDSU football and the game’s official page | The Mountain West policy’s stated scope does not establish that its reporting system covers NDSU nonconference games. NDSU’s reviewed page does not promise a complete injury list for every such game. |
| College Football Playoff game | CFP availability reports | The CFP uses a separate process: participating schools submit reports three days before a game, update them daily, and provide a final report 90 minutes before kickoff. |
NDSU joined the Mountain West for football in 2026, which is why the conference report is the official channel for Bison conference games. That move does not extend the published policy to every nonconference matchup. The conference policy says it applies during conference regular-season games and Mountain West Championships.
What an availability report does—and does not—tell you
Use the wording “available” or the specific designation shown in the official report. An availability report concerns whether a student-athlete is available to participate; it is not necessarily a medical injury report. By itself, a designation does not disclose a diagnosis, injury severity, or prognosis.
If an official report or team statement does not confirm a player’s status, describe it as unconfirmed. Silence, an old report, practice observations, social posts, depth charts, or betting discussion do not establish whether the player will play. Do not infer a diagnosis or cause unless NDSU or another authoritative source has disclosed it.

- For a Mountain West game, check the latest league football report, especially the final update near kickoff.
- For a nonconference game, look for an explicit statement on NDSU’s official channels.
- If no current official confirmation is posted, say that the status is unconfirmed rather than labeling the player active or injured.
