Use OnePlus’s official authenticity and activation-date inquiry for the region where the phone was purchased. Enter the phone’s IMEI1, then compare the result with your receipt and device details. Treat the online result as a preliminary reference—not proof of authenticity or a guarantee that a warranty claim will be approved. OnePlus says final warranty status is subject to inspection and verification by official customer service.
Check the phone with OnePlus’s official inquiry
- Find the phone’s IMEI1. Use the device’s settings or its original packaging to locate the IMEI, and make sure you use IMEI1 for the smartphone inquiry.
- Open the OnePlus support site for the phone’s purchase region. Look for “How can I check the authenticity and activation date?” OnePlus provides regional support and inquiry options, including UK support and India support. The checker page surfaced on OnePlus’s Romanian support domain may redirect; confirm you are using the appropriate regional page.
- Submit IMEI1 and review the returned information. OnePlus describes the IMEI/SN information as a reference for assessing authenticity. A match is useful, but it does not conclusively establish that the phone is genuine.
- Compare the result with your records. Check the product and activation information against the phone and purchase receipt. Keep valid proof of purchase; OnePlus’s EU/UK phone guide tells owners to retain it.
What the activation date tells you about warranty
OnePlus says the activation date generally refers to the first time the product connected to the internet for use. It is one reference for determining when warranty begins, but it is not by itself a final warranty decision. The company states: “The final warranty status of the product is subject to the actual inspection and verification of the official customer service center.”

If the date shown does not fit your purchase records, or the checker reports a status you believe is wrong, contact OnePlus support for the phone’s region and ask customer service to verify it against your proof of purchase. Do not assume an online date alone settles eligibility.

Get stronger authenticity confirmation if the result is unclear
If the inquiry returns no usable information, conflicts with the receipt or device details, or otherwise seems suspicious, contact regional OnePlus support. OnePlus advises bringing the complete product to an official service center for testing and further verification. An online lookup is not a substitute for that inspection when authenticity remains in doubt.

Warranty duration and service territory depend on where the phone was originally purchased. The cited OnePlus phone guide applies to EU/UK models: it describes limited-warranty coverage for functional defects caused by workmanship or materials in supplied hardware, subject to exclusions. Examples include accident-related damage, misuse, and repair or service not provided or approved by OnePlus. Under that guide, free warranty repair or replacement is limited to the country or region of purchase.
Those EU/UK terms should not be assumed to apply to a phone bought elsewhere. Consult the current warranty policy for the device’s original market and model, and ask regional support to clarify the applicable terms. Keep the receipt available when you make an inquiry or service request.
