To switch a Samsung Galaxy back to English, open Settings > General management > Language, select English, then tap Apply or Set as default if prompted. If English is missing, add it from the same menu. You do not need to factory-reset the phone to change its language.
How do I change my Samsung phone back to English?
- Open Settings. If you cannot read the screen, use Settings search and search for “Language,” if search is available. The layout and labels can differ by device and software version.
- Tap General management, then Language.
- If English appears in the language list, tap it and confirm with Apply if prompted. Samsung’s US instructions say the selected language becomes the device default. Samsung US Support: Change language and input settings
- If English is not listed, tap Add language. If you do not see English in the displayed choices, tap More options (the three-dot menu), choose All languages, and select English. Choose Set as default when prompted. Samsung Gulf Support: How to Change the Language on a Galaxy Phone
- Confirm your choice and give the interface a moment to update.
What if I can’t read the language menu?
Use the Settings search function if it is visible, and search for “Language.” If you need to navigate by position instead, remember that menu placement and labels are not identical across Galaxy models, regions, carriers, and software versions; look for the equivalent of General management and Language. Samsung notes that “Available screens and settings may vary by wireless service provider, software version, and device model.” Samsung US Support
How do I change the language on my Samsung Galaxy if only one app is affected?
If the rest of the phone is already in English and only one app is using another language, check the app-specific setting rather than changing the whole device. Go to Settings > General management > App languages, select the app, then choose one of its offered languages. This setting is available only for apps that support it; availability depends on the app developer. Samsung Gulf Support: Change language settings for apps on your Galaxy device
