If your app’s Google sign-in consent screen shows your personal Gmail as its support contact, change the OAuth app’s User support email in Google Cloud Console: select the app’s project, open Google Auth Platform > Branding, choose an eligible monitored address, and save. First check which email you mean: a personalized “Sign in with Google” button can display the signed-in user’s own email, which this setting does not change.
Identify which email is showing
Google has two separate email displays that are easy to confuse. The OAuth app’s User support email is a contact shown on the consent screen for questions about signing in, authorization, or the app. Google’s Sign in with Google help explains that a personalized sign-in button may display the user’s profile picture and email address. Changing the app’s Branding setting changes its support contact, not the user’s Google Account email.
If the email appears as the app’s support contact on the consent screen, use the steps below. If it appears beside a user’s profile picture on a personalized button, this is not the setting to change.

- Go to Google Auth Platform > Branding.
- Under User support email, select an eligible address that your team monitors.
- Save the Branding settings.
Google’s Google Auth Platform setup and OAuth app branding instructions describe the Branding page and its support-email choices.

Choose an address that stays useful
The address is where users can direct questions about the app, so it should be monitored and remain valid if staff responsibilities change. Google recommends using a generic support contact rather than an individual employee’s address. A shared team address is often a better long-term choice when it is eligible in the selector.
The selector can include a Google Group managed by the currently signed-in user, or that user’s email address when it is registered as a Google Account. To use a non-Gmail address, Google says to sign in to the API Console with the relevant Google Workspace account, or register the existing address as a Google Account and make it a project editor or owner so it can appear as an option.

If the new email does not appear
- Confirm that the intended Google Cloud project is selected; the support address belongs to that project’s OAuth branding.
- Check whether the address meets Google’s eligibility rules for the selector: a qualifying Google Group or the signed-in user’s Google Account email.
- For a non-Gmail address, follow Google’s documented Workspace-account or Google Account registration route before expecting it to be selectable.
Google’s documentation does not list every account-specific reason a field or address might be unavailable. If your console does not match these steps, avoid assuming a particular permissions or account problem; verify the project and the account used to access the console.
Check verification and publishing state
For an external app in production, branding edits may remain in Draft Branding until the app is verified and the branding is published. If you save the new contact but users still see the old branding, check the app’s verification and publishing status. Google’s brand verification guide describes when verification is needed for an external production app to display its app name or logo, and how draft and published branding work. This does not mean every project follows the same verification process or that changing only the support email necessarily triggers review.

Changing User support email updates the app’s OAuth support contact. It does not change a person’s Google Account address or the email shown on a personalized sign-in button. Google explains the button’s behavior in its Sign in with Google help and account email settings in Manage your email addresses.
