Change the posts-per-page setting for the page or element that actually displays your blog. In WordPress, use Settings > Reading; in Squarespace, adjust the blog page settings; and in Wix, configure the post list or feed. The labels differ, and some controls set a total while others set a per-page count.
First identify what is displaying the posts
A blog landing page may be a platform’s standard posts archive, a separately assigned blog page, or an individual post-list or feed element. Find the component you want to change before adjusting a number. Also check whether it uses pagination—separate pages of posts—or infinite scroll, which loads more posts as a visitor scrolls.
The instructions below cover WordPress, Squarespace, and Wix. Other platforms may use different controls.

- In your site dashboard, go to Settings > Reading.
- Under Blog pages show at most, enter the number of posts you want on each page.
- Save the changes.
This setting applies to the standard blog post list and controls the per-page count. WordPress developer documentation identifies 10 posts per page as the default for post lists; the value can be changed in Reading settings. When there are more posts than fit on one page, pagination lets visitors move through the list. See WordPress Reading settings and WordPress pagination.

If your homepage is a static page
WordPress lets you assign a static front page and a separate Posts page. In Settings > Reading, check which page is selected as the Posts page; changing the posts-per-page value does not make the front page and Posts page the same.
Do not change the feed count by mistake
Syndication feeds show the most recent controls the number of items in feeds, not the number of posts shown on the blog page. Use Blog pages show at most for the page count.

Change the number of posts in Squarespace
- Open the blog page’s settings in Squarespace.
- Find the posts-per-page setting (called Number of posts per page in the help documentation) and choose the count.
For version 7.0, Squarespace documents a range of 1 to 20 posts per page. Its version 7.1 guide also explains that the page setting determines the count; when a blog has more posts than fit on the page, older and newer pagination links appear. Do not assume the 7.0 range applies to other versions. Consult Squarespace’s blogging guide and version 7.1 blog page guidance.

Wix has distinct controls for a post list and a blog feed. Select the one that is actually on your page.

For a post list
- Select the post list element in the editor and open Settings.
- Open the element’s Settings tab.
- Choose single-page display and set Total posts displayed, or choose pagination and set Posts per page.
The first option sets the total shown on that single page; the pagination option sets how many appear on each page. Wix documents the controls in Adding and Setting Up a Post List.
For a blog feed
Open the feed’s customization settings and check its post-loading option. Wix describes pagination and infinite scroll as separate options, with a posts-loaded-per-scroll setting for infinite scroll. That is a feed control, not necessarily the same as a post list’s total or per-page count. See Wix’s blog feed customization guide.

Understand total posts versus posts per page
These settings answer different questions. A total determines how many posts appear in all on one page; a per-page count determines how many appear before the visitor must go to another page. With infinite scroll, a feed may instead load posts in batches as the visitor scrolls.
Quick Recap
Best Value
| Platform or component | Where the control lives | What the count controls | How more posts appear |
|---|---|---|---|
| WordPress standard post list | Settings > Reading | Posts per page | Pagination |
| Squarespace blog page | Blog page settings | Posts per page | Older/newer pagination links when posts exceed the page count |
| Wix post list | Post list element > Settings | Total posts on one page, or posts per page with pagination | Single page or pagination, depending on the selected mode |
| Wix blog feed | Feed customization settings | Posts loaded per scroll when infinite scroll is selected | Pagination or infinite scroll |
If the displayed count does not change
- Confirm that you changed the page or element that renders the posts, rather than a separate homepage, archive, feed, or post list.
- Check whether the component uses pagination or infinite scroll; the relevant count may be a per-page value, total, or posts-per-scroll value.
- If the page uses a custom theme, plugin, or manually configured block, check that component’s own query or settings. The platform controls described here do not establish how every customization behaves.
