Open Aniimo’s main menu and select Appearance. For a standard outfit change, use the Character area to equip clothing, accessories, or hairstyles you already own. For deeper edits, open Design and check the resource cost shown in the game before confirming.
The menu route and the split between Character and Design are reported by a September 17, 2026 guide; the official September 23 update confirms an Appearance Design interface with resource-cost displays. Official Aniimo notices
Change an outfit or equip an owned cosmetic
- Open the main menu and choose Appearance. A September 17, 2026 guide reports this menu path.
- Select the Character area. The same guide places owned clothing, accessories, and hairstyles here.
- Choose a cosmetic you own and equip it. If the item is not available to select, you may need to obtain it first.
The Character and Design labels and their functions are guide-reported navigation details, rather than directions stated in the official update notices.

The guide describes Design as the area for more extensive changes to features, hairstyles, and clothing. The official September 23, 2026 update confirms that Aniimo has an Appearance Design interface and says its resource-cost display was improved. If Appearance is not available
A September 20, 2026 guide reports that Appearance unlocks after you receive the Institute uniform during the Institute Initiation Quest. The official notices reviewed do not independently confirm that progression requirement, so treat it as guide-reported. If the menu is still unavailable, continue the quest until the uniform is awarded and check again.
Where to get more outfits and accessories
Pawprint Studio’s September 23, 2026 launch notice described four free outfits available through story play, Home activities, and sign-ins over time. It also described Aniimo-capture milestones in the Aniilog as a way to earn Aniimo accessories. These are launch reward details, not a guarantee that a specific event or reward can still be claimed. Check the current in-game event and reward screens for availability. Official Aniimo launch notice

Choose the right area for the change
| What you want to do | Where to look | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Equip clothing, accessories, or a hairstyle you own | Character, according to the September 17, 2026 guide | Whether the cosmetic is owned and selectable |
| Make a deeper design edit | Design, according to the same guide | The resource cost shown by the in-game confirmation prompt |
The two areas serve different purposes: equipping an owned cosmetic is not the same as making a deeper design edit. The official update confirms cost displays for Design, but does not establish that every appearance change is free.
