On Samsung Australia room-air-conditioner remotes that have a SET button, press and hold SET for 3 seconds to switch the temperature display between Celsius and Fahrenheit. The instructions vary by product region and model, so use the steps below only for the controller type they describe.
Change °C to °F on a Samsung room AC remote
- Find the SET button on the handheld remote.
- Press and hold SET for 3 seconds.
- Check the temperature display for the change from °C to °F. Holding SET again switches it back.
These steps come from Samsung Australia’s room air-conditioner remote instructions. Samsung cautions that models, settings, and button sequences can differ depending on location and where the product was purchased.
If your remote has no SET button or the steps do not work
Do not assume another button combination will work: Samsung does not establish one universal sequence for all handheld remotes. Look up the manual for the exact air-conditioner or remote model and purchase region. If the manual is unavailable, use Samsung support for your region to identify the correct instructions.
Central or wired controllers use a different procedure
Do not use the handheld-remote steps as a guide for a central-system controller. For compatible central air-conditioning systems, Samsung Gulf’s central-controller instructions describe a service-menu setting:

- Display in Celsius Only and it can also work for Fahrenheit air conditioner
- Press and hold SET and ESC together for 3 seconds to enter service mode.
- Set the main menu to 1 and the submenu to 1.
- Change the fourth digit to 1 for Fahrenheit. Samsung identifies 0 as Celsius.
- Press SET to save, then press ESC to exit service mode.
This is a service-menu procedure, not a general handheld-remote shortcut. Confirm compatibility in the manual for your system before changing service settings.
