To capture what is visible on a Notion page, open the page and use your computer’s built-in screenshot tool. On Windows, press Windows key + Shift + S, then select the area. On a Mac, use the Screenshot app or its keyboard shortcuts. If the page is longer than the screen, capture it in sections or export the page as a PDF for a complete, readable copy.
Choose between an image screenshot and a full-page document
A normal screenshot is an image of the screen area you select. It is useful for a quick visual reference, a message, or a presentation slide, but it only includes the portion currently visible. A long Notion page may therefore require several captures.
A PDF export is better when you need the whole page, multiple database views, or a document that others can read and print. PDF is not an image screenshot: it preserves a document-style layout and offers page-format controls.

Take a screenshot of a Notion page on Windows
- Open the Notion page and scroll to the section you want to capture.
- Press Windows key + Shift + S. Microsoft documents this shortcut for copying screen contents and selecting a region: Microsoft Support.
- Choose the rectangular, window, full-screen, or freeform capture mode shown by the Snipping Tool toolbar.
- Drag over the Notion content. Release the mouse or trackpad to capture it.
- Open the notification or Snipping Tool editor to annotate, copy, or save the image. The exact saving behavior depends on your Windows settings and version.
Capture a page that extends below the screen
The shortcut captures the current screen, not every block below it. Scroll to the next section and repeat the capture, keeping a small overlap so the sequence is easy to understand. For a single file containing the entire page, use Notion’s PDF export instead.

Take a screenshot on a Mac
- Open the Notion page and position the content you need.
- Use macOS’s built-in Screenshot tool. Press Shift + Command + 5 to display controls for capturing the entire screen, a window, or a selected portion; macOS also provides shortcuts for common captures.
- Select the capture mode, then click or drag over the Notion content.
- Use the thumbnail or the saved file to mark up, copy, or share the image.
Apple’s current shortcut and recording guidance is documented at Apple Support. If the page is longer than the display, take several captures or export it to PDF.
Export an entire Notion page to PDF on desktop
Use this method when “whole page” means a readable document rather than one tall image.
- Open the Notion page.
- Click the ••• menu in the page’s upper-right corner.
- Choose Export.
- Select PDF as the export format.
- Choose which content to include, select a page format, and set a scale if that option is offered.
- Click Export, then save or open the resulting file.
Notion describes these controls in Export your Notion content. Labels and available controls can vary by workspace plan and Notion’s current interface.

The cited Notion instructions restrict the Include subpages option to Business or Enterprise plans. When available, the export is a ZIP containing PDF files and assets, rather than one flat image. If you do not see the option, export the needed subpages individually or ask a workspace administrator about plan permissions.

PDF details to check
- Custom emojis may not appear in exported PDFs.
- If a PDF export fails, Notion may produce an HTML export instead.
- Review the resulting pages before sharing, especially when the page contains columns, embeds, synced blocks, or databases.
Export a Notion page to PDF on mobile
- Open the page in the Notion mobile app.
- Tap •••.
- Tap Export.
- Set the export and page-format options.
- Tap Export, then use the share menu to save the PDF or send it to another app.
Mobile export options are also covered in Notion’s export documentation. A mobile screen capture still captures only the visible display, so PDF export is the practical choice for a long page.
Use browser print when you need a quick PDF
- Open the Notion page in a browser.
- Choose File → Print (or the browser’s print command).
- Select Save as PDF as the destination.
- Review orientation, margins, scale, and page range, then save.
Notion notes that browser printing cannot print a full-page database correctly. Export that database through Notion’s PDF option instead. Browser print is therefore a fallback for ordinary page content, not a universal full-page solution.
Improve readability before capturing
- Collapse sidebars and unrelated toggles so the page content occupies more of the screen.
- Scroll to the exact heading or block before using a screen shortcut.
- For a visual record, keep the page at a consistent zoom level across multiple captures.
- For a PDF, check page format and scale rather than shrinking everything until text is unreadable.
- Confirm that private comments, database properties, and linked content are appropriate for the intended audience.

Troubleshooting
The shortcut does nothing
On Windows, verify that you are pressing the Windows key, Shift, and S together and check whether Snipping Tool notifications are disabled. On Mac, open Screenshot from the Applications folder or press Shift + Command + 5. Corporate keyboard policies or remapped shortcuts can also intercept these commands.

The capture is too small or cuts off text
Use a larger selection, adjust display scaling or browser zoom, and capture the section again. A screen shortcut cannot include content below the viewport; use PDF export for the whole page.
The PDF is missing blocks or looks different
Check the export settings, scale, and page format. Embedded content may not render identically, custom emojis may be absent, and a failed PDF export can arrive as HTML. For databases, use Notion’s export rather than browser print.
The Notion page requires a login
A local screenshot works after you sign in because it captures your own screen. A URL screenshot service needs a publicly reachable page or an explicitly supported authentication method; do not expose private workspace credentials in a URL.
