Use your browser’s full-page capture feature—not Reddit’s Share button. In Firefox, open the Reddit page, choose Take Screenshot, then Save full page. In Microsoft Edge, choose Screenshot and its full-page option. On iPhone or iPad Safari, take a normal screenshot, tap the thumbnail, and choose Full Page. Load and expand the Reddit content you need before capturing so lazy-loaded images and comments are included.

Reddit’s documented sharing flow copies a post or comment link or sends it to another app. It does not provide the full-page screenshot command; the browser or operating system performs that capture.
Before you capture a Reddit thread
Open the exact page
Navigate to the post, comment permalink, or subreddit page you want to preserve. If the page redirects to a login screen, a consent prompt, or an age/content warning, resolve that first. A capture records what is rendered in the browser, not content that remains behind a dialog.

Reddit can defer images, videos, and comments until they approach the visible area. Scroll through the thread once, wait for media to finish loading, and expand the comments or “more replies” sections that matter. This is especially important for long nested discussions.

Reduce moving parts
Close notification popups, dismiss chat or cookie panels, and wait for animated media to settle. If a sticky header or floating control obscures text, note whether your browser’s capture tool includes it and hide it if the tool offers that option.
Protect private information
Review the finished image before sharing. Usernames, direct messages, browser notifications, account details, and open tabs can reveal information you did not intend to publish. Crop or annotate the file where appropriate.
Firefox: save the entire Reddit page as a PNG
- Open the Reddit page in Firefox.
- Right-click an empty area of the page and select Take Screenshot. You can also press Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows or Linux, or Command+Shift+S on macOS.
- In the capture interface, select Save full page in the upper-right corner.
- Download the image, or choose the copy option if you need it on the clipboard.
Firefox saves the downloaded full-page capture as a PNG in the browser’s normal download folder. If the resulting image stops at a comment you know is farther down, return to the page, scroll through the missing section, expand it, and capture again.

- You need a single image rather than a paginated document.
- You want the capture to remain local to the browser without installing an extension.
- You are comfortable reviewing a tall PNG before sharing it.
Microsoft Edge: full-page capture with markup
- Open Reddit in Microsoft Edge.
- Right-click the page and choose Screenshot. You can also open Screenshot from Edge settings or press Ctrl+Shift+S.
- Select the full-page option instead of a selected region.
- Use the pen or touch tools if you need to mark the image, then copy or save it.
Edge’s Screenshot feature is designed to capture a full page or a selected area, including long or moving webpages. Mark up sensitive lines or highlight a particular comment before exporting.
Chrome and other desktop browsers
Reddit’s current desktop support list includes Chrome 116+, Edge 116+, Firefox 117+, and Safari 15+. Reddit also supports Chromium- or WebKit-based browsers such as Opera and Samsung Internet. Exact capture labels vary by browser release, so use the browser’s current help or tools menu and look for one of these terms:
- Full page or full-page screenshot for a stitched image.
- Capture full size when the browser exposes developer tools.
- Save as PDF in the print dialog when a document is more useful than one very tall image.
If Chrome does not show a full-page button in the menu you are using, open its current developer-tools capture workflow or print the page to PDF. Labels and keyboard shortcuts can change between releases; the output choice, rather than a particular shortcut, is the stable part of the procedure.

iPhone and iPad Safari: scrolling screenshot
- Open the Reddit page in Safari.
- On an iPhone with Face ID, quickly press and release the side button and volume-up button together. On older models, use the Home and side buttons.
- Tap the screenshot thumbnail that appears.
- Select Full Page at the top of the editor.
- Crop or annotate if needed, then use the save or share controls offered by your iOS or iPadOS version.
Apple describes this feature as capturing an entire Safari webpage beyond the edge of the screen. Depending on the operating-system version, the full-page result may be offered through Files, Photos, or the share sheet rather than as a conventional camera-roll image. If Full Page is absent, confirm that the screenshot was taken in Safari and that the page is a webpage rather than an app view.
Save a very long Reddit page as a PDF
- Load and expand the content you need.
- Open the browser’s print command.
- Choose Save as PDF (or the equivalent PDF destination).
- Check page ranges, paper size, margins, orientation, headers, and footers before saving.
- Open the resulting PDF and inspect several pages for clipped comments, missing images, or unexpected blank pages.
A PDF is often easier to read, search, and print than an extremely tall PNG. Use landscape orientation for wide tables or media, and remove browser headers and footers when they add noise. A PDF remains paginated, so it is not identical to one continuous image.
Why a Reddit screenshot ends early or looks wrong
The capture stops at the visible screen
You used a viewport or selected-area command rather than a full-page command. Repeat the workflow and choose Save full page, Full page, or Capture full size.
Comments or images are missing
They were probably lazy-loaded or collapsed. Scroll through the page, wait for each section, expand replies, and retry. For a thread with thousands of comments, capture only the loaded and expanded branches you actually need.
A sticky bar is repeated or content is clipped
Fixed navigation and floating controls can be duplicated by stitching tools. Temporarily collapse the control, zoom out modestly, or use print-to-PDF. Always inspect the top, middle, and bottom of the output.

The page changes while it is being captured
Live comments, animated media, ads, and infinite-scroll loading can produce inconsistent frames. Pause briefly after the final scroll, disable unnecessary animation where the browser allows it, and capture at a stable point in time.
The output is too large to share
Resize or compress a copy rather than overwriting the original. A PDF, a series of cropped images, or a link to the Reddit post may communicate the content better than one huge bitmap.
Safari does not offer Full Page
Make sure the screenshot was taken in Safari and that you tapped the thumbnail immediately. Some app-embedded browsers and non-web views do not expose the full-page editor. Open the same URL in Safari and try again.
Quality, privacy, and reliability checklist
- Confirm the URL and account state before capture.
- Scroll through every section that must appear and expand required replies.
- Wait for images, videos, and embeds to finish loading.
- Check the top, middle, and bottom for repeated headers, blank bands, or clipped text.
- Review usernames, notifications, private messages, and browser chrome for sensitive data.
- Keep the original file and create a smaller or annotated copy for sharing.
- For evidence or moderation work, record the capture date and the post URL separately; the image alone may not preserve context.
