To capture an entire Twitter (now X) page as one image, use the browser’s built-in whole-page command rather than a normal screen capture. In Chrome or Chromium, open DevTools and choose Capture a full size screenshot. In Firefox, choose Screenshot → Save full page; in Edge, choose Capture a full size screenshot. Load the posts, images, and replies you need first—browser capture can only include content that has actually rendered.
Which full-page screenshot method should you use?
The best method depends on your browser and whether you want a quick manual image or a repeatable capture. All of the browser commands below capture content below the visible viewport, but none can capture Twitter/X items that have not loaded into the page.

Before you capture a Twitter/X page
Twitter/X uses dynamic rendering. A thread may load more replies as you scroll, images can appear after the text, and a feed can virtualize older items instead of keeping every post in the document. Prepare the page before invoking a whole-page command.

- Wait for the posts, media, and replies you want to become visible.
- Scroll through the thread or feed far enough to trigger additional content loading.
- Pause after each scroll so images and embeds finish rendering.
- Close overlays that obscure content, such as sign-in prompts or expanded media viewers.
- Check the page at the intended account state and viewport width; the capture records that rendered state.
These steps do not force Twitter/X to load content that is unavailable to your session. They simply make sure the browser has rendered the material you intend to save.

Chrome or Chromium: capture the complete page
- Open the Twitter/X page and let the posts, images, and other required content load.
- Open Developer Tools.
- Use the DevTools menu or command controls and select Capture a full size screenshot.
- Wait for the browser to create the image, then check the downloaded file from top to bottom.
Chrome’s documented full-size command includes content that is not currently visible in the viewport. It captures the rendered page, not browser tabs, address bars, or content that Twitter/X has not loaded.
If the command is not visible
Make sure DevTools is open on the page you are capturing, not in a separate tab or an unrelated window. Open the DevTools command/menu interface again and search for the exact label Capture a full size screenshot. If the page is still changing, wait for network activity and animations to settle before running the command.
Firefox: use Save full page
- Open the Twitter/X page.
- Open Firefox’s Screenshot tool.
- Select Save full page.
- Download the resulting image and inspect the thread or feed for missing posts.
Firefox’s consumer-facing Screenshot tool is the shortest path because it does not require opening Developer Tools. Mozilla documents that the result can be downloaded as an image file.
Firefox DevTools: enable the entire-page button
- Open Firefox Developer Tools.
- Open the Developer Tools settings and find Available Toolbox Buttons.
- Enable Take a screenshot of the entire page.
- Click the newly available screenshot icon while the Twitter/X page is active.
- Find the saved image in your Downloads folder and verify its bottom edge.
Firefox also provides a Web Console command for advanced use:

Microsoft Edge: capture a full-size screenshot
- Open the Twitter/X page and allow the material you need to render.
- Open Edge’s screenshot or Web Capture controls.
- Choose Capture a full size screenshot.
- Save the image and inspect it for unloaded replies, images, or truncated media.
Edge’s documented full-size command includes content outside the current viewport. As with Chrome and Firefox, it represents the page state that has rendered at capture time.
When a Twitter/X capture is incomplete
Posts or replies are missing
Load more of the feed by scrolling, wait for the new items to appear, and capture again. Twitter/X may virtualize a long timeline, so a page can look tall while older items are no longer present in the document. For a very long thread, capture smaller sections and label them in order.

Wait until each image has visibly loaded before starting the capture. A whole-page command does not guarantee that deferred media will finish downloading at the exact moment the command runs.
The screenshot contains a consent dialog, popup, or chat widget
Dismiss the overlay before capturing. If it returns on every visit or you need unattended captures, an API that can accept the page’s consent state and hide unwanted elements is more reliable than repeatedly cleaning images by hand.
The image is too tall to handle
A complete timeline can produce a very large bitmap. Capture the thread in logical sections, or switch to a PDF workflow when a paginated document is more useful than one extremely tall image.

Troubleshooting checklist
Chrome or Edge saves only the visible screen
You likely used the ordinary screenshot command. Reopen the browser’s DevTools or Web Capture controls and select the exact Capture a full size screenshot command.

Firefox saves only a selected rectangle
Return to the Screenshot tool and choose Save full page, not a region or visible-area option. In DevTools, verify that Take a screenshot of the entire page is enabled.
The bottom of the thread is cut off
Scroll farther, wait for replies and media to appear, then repeat the capture. If Twitter/X continues replacing older nodes, split the thread into sections.
A capture is mostly blank
Check that the page itself finished loading and that no sign-in, consent, or bot-check screen covers it. A browser capture records that screen if it is the rendered page.
