You can cancel Amazon Prime in your membership settings, but Amazon’s published guidance does not guarantee that every Prime Gaming game will remain playable after your membership ends. Before cancelling, check how each game was claimed, which account holds its entitlement, and the terms that apply to that title.
How to cancel Amazon Prime
Use the Amazon account or billing provider that manages your membership. Finish every confirmation prompt, then check the membership page for the date your benefits end. Amazon’s navigation labels can differ by marketplace and app version.
On Amazon.com in a web browser
- Open Amazon.com and go to Accounts & Lists.
- Choose Prime Membership, then open Manage Membership.
- Select End Membership and follow the on-screen instructions through final confirmation. See Amazon’s cancellation guide.
In the Amazon Shopping app
- Open Profile.
- Choose Manage Prime Membership and open the membership controls.
- Choose End Membership and complete the prompts, as described in Amazon’s guide.
On Amazon UK or when billed through Google
Amazon UK’s help page gives this web sequence: open Your Amazon Prime Membership, choose Manage, then Update, Cancel and More, and follow the instructions. Amazon says customers who signed up through the Android Shopping app must manage the subscription through Google Subscription services. If another provider bills you, check that provider’s subscription settings and cancel there if required.

There is no blanket answer established by the Amazon guidance cited here. Amazon’s cancellation instructions explain how to end Prime, but do not promise that every game claimed through Prime Gaming remains playable afterward. Treat each title as a separate entitlement rather than assuming that cancelling Prime either removes or preserves all claimed games.

Amazon’s Prime Gaming promotions schedule addresses a different situation: it says that, unless otherwise specified, ending or suspending a developer’s participation in the program does not affect end users’ further access, use, downloads, or redownloads of a promotion item to which they were entitled before that change. That is a developer-program provision, not a statement about an individual cancelling Prime. The schedule appears in Amazon’s Amazon Appstore for Android Terms of Use.
The same terms discuss purchased Appstore apps, which Amazon generally says it will continue to make available for download and reinstallation, while reserving the ability to limit or disable downloads for licensing or other reasons. They also address rights after a developer’s program agreement ends. Those terms concern purchased apps and developer agreements; they are not a definitive promise about Prime Gaming claims after Prime cancellation.

Check each game’s entitlement before you cancel
For every title you care about, use the claim confirmation and the account where you expect to play it to establish what you received. A code redeemed at another store or publisher is not necessarily governed by the same terms as a title claimed directly through Amazon.

- Which account shows the entitlement? Sign in to the relevant Amazon, game-service, store, or publisher account and check its library or ownership page.
- What kind of benefit is it? A standalone game claim, an in-game item, and access to a subscription-dependent service may have different conditions.
- Do the applicable terms require an active subscription? Check the current terms for the specific game and platform. If the entitlement is on an external account, check that platform’s or publisher’s terms directly.
Do not confuse cancelling Prime with closing your Amazon account. The cancellation steps end the membership; the status of a particular game depends on the entitlement and terms that apply to it.

Refunds and other subscriptions
Amazon UK’s help page says paid members who have not placed an order using Prime benefits are eligible for a full refund; members who have used only delivery benefits may be eligible for a partial refund; and members who have used Prime Video, Prime Music, or Prime Gaming benefits are not eligible for a refund. These are the rules stated on the UK help page; check the terms shown in your own marketplace and account for other regions.
Amazon says that additional subscriptions tied to Amazon Prime or Prime Video do not renew once Amazon Prime ends. A Prime Video-only subscription is distinct from Amazon Prime. Check separately billed subscriptions with their provider rather than assuming they are included in, or cancelled with, Prime. See Prime Video’s cancellation help.
