Buy new Secret Lair drops through the official Magic: The Gathering Secret Lair storefront, using the release announcement to confirm the sale time, products, limits, and any queue instructions. Drops may have limited quantities, and adding one to your cart does not reserve it: Wizards says, “Products are only secured once checkout is completed.” If you are considering resale, compare the exact version with recent completed sales and check the seller, condition, contents, and delivered cost.
Where to find a drop and when it goes on sale
Start with Wizards of the Coast’s official Secret Lair announcement for the specific release. It is the source to check for the sale date and time, storefront, available treatments, product contents, purchase limits, and any special availability details. There is no dependable single annual schedule or standard sale duration to assume.
Past dates are examples, not a calendar: the Ultimate Pencil Superdrop was announced for May 12, 2025, at 9 a.m. PT, while Summer Superdrop 2025 was announced for June 9 at 9 a.m. PT. Both were described as available in limited quantities. The Summer Superdrop announcement also said there was no hard end date and that the storefront would be cleaned up from time to time. That wording does not mean every drop remains available indefinitely; stock can run out and listings can be removed. See the official Secret Lair announcements for release-specific terms.

How to prepare for a limited storefront sale
Before sale time, sign in to or create your Wizards account and verify that your shipping address is correct. Read the release announcement for any queue or pre-queue instructions; the mechanics can differ from one sale to another.
For A Marvelous Mathoms, Wizards described a pre-queue that opened one hour before the sale. People already in it were randomly assigned queue positions when the sale began, while people who entered later joined in order. Those were the rules for that release, not permanent queue policy.

Check for date conflicts and shipping updates
Verify the live listing if official information appears inconsistent. The Corn Maze Superdrop announcement published September 30, 2026, says in its opening and closing that it arrives October 12, but its checklist refers to a sale beginning October 14. As of October 7, 2026, those statements conflict; neither date should be treated as certain without a corrected announcement or confirmation on the live storefront.

Delivery estimates can also change. In a March 27, 2026 update, Wizards said manufacturing delays were continuing. It named the Rad and Roll for Initiative Superdrops as delayed in the United States and described delays across Europe for many non-Dandân drops. The update also warned that upcoming sales might be affected. Check Wizards’ Production and Shipping Status page for product- and region-specific information; Wizards also directed customers to DailyMTG, email, and Secret Lair social channels for updates.

How to assess a resale listing
Compare like with like. A listing for an opened card, a different foil treatment, or an incomplete drop is not a direct price comparison with a sealed, complete version. Before deciding, check the following:
- Identity and contents: Confirm the exact drop, cards included, foil treatment, language, and whether the offer is for the full drop or individual cards.
- Condition and packaging: Check whether it is sealed or opened, inspect photos, and look for damage or missing items.
- Seller and terms: Review seller history and feedback, shipping, and return terms. Wizards recommends reputable dealers and approved internet retailers for online purchases in North America; it also advises auction buyers to read the fine print and warns against proxy copies. That guidance does not authenticate every peer-to-peer listing.
- Total cost: Compare the delivered total, including shipping and tax where applicable, rather than the item price alone.
Use recent completed sales as a reality check rather than relying on one seller’s asking price. TCGplayer describes reference points including Lowest Listing, Last Sold Listing, and Market Price. These are comparison tools, not a promise that a particular copy will sell for that amount or that its value will rise. An eBay search result shows that Secret Lair listings can appear there, but one listing does not establish typical prices or ongoing availability.

- At MTG Decks & More we have over 50 years combined experience playing games including D&D, MTG, and dozens of other table and board games. We use this experience with many hundreds of different games and gaming accessories over the decades to select only the highest quality products for sale. For sale is the exclusive secret lair drop: Secret Lair x Marvel's Deadpool (Non-Foil Edition)
- Well look who it is! Come in, come in. Don’t mind the robe. “Uncle Deadpool” is just crashing at Secret Lair for a few days. I’m actually doing a little tour of lairs, hideouts, sanctums, and strongholds and leaving ratings online. It’s been a blast.
- But I wasn’t expecting guests. Just, uh, kick back, relax, and . . . don’t sit on my red suit! It’s drying out. But check this out—Secret Lair made me my own Deadpool cards! Isn’t that nice? So pretty. This one even says, “trading card,” so you don’t forget. Anyway, make yourself comfortable and if you need anything, I’ll be in the kitchen making chimichangas.
- Contents: 1x Deadpool, Trading Card, 1x Deadly Rollick, 1x Saw in Half, 1x Blasphemous Act, 1x Vandalblast
If you plan to resell, calculate what you would actually receive after the current marketplace fee, shipping, and other costs. TCGplayer says marketplace fees are percentage-based and can change; its fee guidance says costs vary by seller type and program. Check the current fee guidance and seller agreement for the terms that apply to your account. Limited quantities alone do not establish appreciation or profit; the reviewed sources provide no reliable statistic for Secret Lair resale premiums, sell-through, or returns.

What past prices can—and cannot—tell you
Historical launch prices can help explain a past listing, but they are not current-price guidance. In its 2025 Ultimate Pencil Superdrop announcement, Wizards listed individual drops at $29.99 USD for non-foil and $39.99 USD for rainbow foil. The 2025 Summer Superdrop announcement listed its English-language FINAL FANTASY bundle at $199.99 USD. These are examples of those releases’ announced prices, not a current price list or a forecast of resale value.
