To buy a Secret Lair drop directly from Wizards of the Coast, open the official Secret Lair store for the region where the order will ship, choose a drop that is currently buyable, pick its edition and quantity, and check out with a Wizards Account or as a guest. The store identifies Scalefast Inc. (trading as ESW) as its authorized reseller and merchant, so an order placed on the official site goes through that channel rather than a third-party seller.
Choose the right regional store first
Secret Lair runs separate storefronts for the United States, the European Union and the United Kingdom. Your region is set by where the order will be delivered, not where you happen to be browsing from, so pick the store that covers your delivery country before you look at any product page. The thresholds below come from the Help Center’s Shipping, Delivery, and Customs FAQ at the time of writing; confirm them in checkout, because they can change.

Eligibility for a specific country is confirmed only during checkout. If your country is not offered, the product page may still show a drop; checkout can block the purchase if the item is unavailable in your country. Customs or local postal charges may apply to some destinations, and those are separate from the store’s own shipping charge.

Step-by-step: buying a drop
- Open the regional Secret Lair store. Use the store that matches your delivery country. The storefront shows product pages, current drops, past sales, account sign-in, the cart, and an optional signup for new-release notifications. Signing up for promotional email is not required to buy.
- Check the listing’s live status. A listing can be upcoming, open for preorder, in stock, low in stock, on a waiting list, unavailable or sold out. An announcement or an old product page does not prove a drop is still for sale, so trust only the status shown on the live listing.
- Select the edition and quantity. Some drops offer both foil and non-foil versions. Use the quantity control on the product page and respect any per-customer limit.
- Add the item to your cart. Checkout will stop the order if the maximum quantity has already been reached or the product is not available in your country.
- Sign in or continue as a guest. Where guest checkout is offered, a Wizards Account is not required to buy. Signing in is worthwhile if you want order history and self-service changes (see the sections below).
- Review the destination, charges and delivery estimate. Confirm the shipping address, shipping option, any free-shipping qualification, the estimated release date or window, and whether the order may ship in more than one parcel.
- Pay and save the confirmation. The confirmation email contains your order ID and the estimated release date or window. Keep it: it is the reference you will use for management and shipping questions.
Using a Wizards Account with Secret Lair
A Wizards Account gives you order management and a saved account in the Secret Lair store, but it is not the only way to buy. To connect an existing account, go to the Secret Lair store, sign in with your Wizards Account, and authorize the connection. The Help Center describes this as a one-time step, and the wording it uses is: “To shop on the Secret Lair store, sign in with your Wizards Account and authorize the connection between Secret Lair and your account.”

Read the listing before you commit
Each drop has its own listing, and the details that matter for your purchase are set per product rather than across the whole brand. Check these before adding to cart:
- Status: whether the drop is open for preorder, in stock, low in stock, on a waiting list, unavailable or sold out.
- Edition: foil, non-foil, or both, since the two are sold as separate choices on some listings.
- Quantity cap: the per-customer limit shown on the listing.
- Shipping message: any free-shipping note on the listing, which applies only to that product’s order rules.
As an example of what a listing looks like, the Secret Lair x My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic listing offers foil and non-foil versions, lists six cards, carries a US free-shipping message for orders over $99, and caps purchases at five per customer. Those terms belong to that product. Do not assume another drop has the same card count, cap or shipping message.

Preorders: what you can change and when
Preorders are the case where you are most likely to need to edit an order, and the rules depend on whether you have been charged yet.

- Guest purchasers: use the link in the confirmation email to make the same kind of change.
- Saved details: updating your saved address or payment method on your account does not change an order that already exists.
- After the charge: the website cannot edit the order. Support may be able to help in some circumstances, but that is not guaranteed.
Cancellation depends on region and payment state

Shipping timing and delays
The estimated release date in your confirmation is a release estimate, not a delivery date. Shipping may take up to three weeks after that estimate. If one order contains items with different release dates, the store may split the shipment. For current production or shipping delays, check the Help Center’s production and shipping status page rather than relying on an old product page or a forum post.
Buying from a marketplace instead
A third-party marketplace listing is a different transaction from buying from the official store. Buying directly from Secret Lair means the order is handled by the store and its authorized reseller. A marketplace listing may or may not be authorized, and this guide does not establish that any secondary listing is cheaper. If you use one, compare the seller, edition, condition, total price and return terms before paying.
If checkout will not complete
- Quantity message: the per-customer maximum has been reached on your account or order. Reduce the quantity to the allowed number.
- Country message: the product is not offered for your delivery country. Check whether your country appears under the store you selected.
- Listing shows sold out or a waiting list: you cannot buy it through the cart at that moment. Check the live listing again later rather than relying on a saved link.
- Order stuck or delayed after purchase: check the order ID in your confirmation email against the Help Center’s production and shipping status page before contacting support.
Once you know which store you are buying from and which drop is live, the purchase itself takes only a few minutes. The steps above are the same for every drop; the listing, region and payment state are what change the outcome.
