MacMost’s instructions say to buy courses sold through Patreon using a web browser on a Mac—not through the Patreon app on an iPhone or iPad. MacMost says app purchases cost more and that the app’s course-page layout can make the purchase button difficult to find or make existing Club MacMost members think they need to upgrade. It does not provide an iPhone or iPad browser workaround, so using Safari on the same device is not its stated purchase method.
Buy a new course in a Mac browser
-
Find the course in MacMost’s online courses catalog. MacMost identifies Patreon as the storefront for new courses.
-
On a Mac, open the course’s Patreon page in a web browser and complete Patreon’s purchase flow. MacMost says you can buy an individual course without becoming a Patreon supporter.

MacMost does not give a specific price difference for app purchases, so there is no supported amount or percentage to compare. Its explanation about the surcharge is MacMost’s stated rationale; it is not a separate verification of Apple’s pricing policy.

Check whether you already have access
If you are a Club MacMost Plus member, you may already be entitled to view Patreon courses. Before paying, sign in to the Patreon account associated with your membership and check access. If Patreon shows a Buy button, confirm you are using the correct account before purchasing.
Use the original site for a course you bought before
If you previously bought an older course through courses.macmost.com, sign in there and open the course from your account dashboard. MacMost says the legacy site remains available to prior purchasers. Its accounts are separate from Patreon, so Patreon login details should not be assumed to work on the legacy site. See the site’s Frequently Asked Questions for legacy-course information.
