Start with one main player whose role and usable skills fit how you like to play, invest character-specific development items in that player first, then add teammates that complement the role. Treat awakening and Hot Zones as ways to develop your plan—not evidence that any lineup is currently the strongest. The official sources explain these systems, but do not establish a current best team or player ranking.
How to choose a player to train first
Kuroko’s Basketball Street Rivals is a character-development basketball game with real-time online matches, 3-on-3 play, training, free games, and story mode, according to its Google Play listing. The listing showed an update dated July 14, 2026; available versions and store details can vary by country and platform.
Pick a main player based on the role you want to play and the skills you can reliably use. The official materials reviewed here do not compare current characters, publish win rates, or identify a universally best starter. Rather than chase an unsupported tier list, read each player’s current in-game abilities and choose someone whose strengths match your approach.

- Match the player to your habits: focus on a role and skills that suit how you intend to contribute in matches.
- Check the actual skill descriptions: prefer abilities you understand and can use as part of your plan, rather than choosing from a name or reputation alone.
- Consider development items you have: player-specific materials make some investment choices less interchangeable than general roster planning.
How to build a complementary 3-on-3 lineup
Once you have a main player, select teammates to cover needs your chosen role does not meet. Think about how the group’s skills fit together and whether the lineup supports your preferred way to play. Street Rivals supports team competition and 3-on-3 matches, but the official descriptions do not prescribe a mandatory role composition.

Use the current character descriptions and your match experience to decide what coverage your lineup needs. If a teammate’s skills overlap heavily with your main player’s, compare that overlap with the value of adding a different capability. There is no source-backed fixed lineup formula to apply across every roster or update.
How to spend character-specific development resources
As a practical resource-management approach, concentrate scarce character-specific items on the player you expect to use first. This keeps your early development plan focused; it is advice, not a tested claim that concentrating resources produces better match results. Official announcements document character-specific awakening cards and training items, but do not provide current numerical costs or a cost-effectiveness ranking.

Before using an item, check its current in-game description, eligible character, and requirement. Avoid spending based on an old event announcement: rewards described for a limited-time event are not a guarantee that the event or its items remain available.

In a December 27, 2023 Ver. 2.0.0 announcement, FIVECROSS said awakening unlocks at user level 15. The announcement described awakening a character with that character’s corresponding awakening card to learn an awakening skill and gain stats; it also said duplicate player cards are converted into the corresponding player’s awakening cards.

Those are the rules documented in the 2023 post, not confirmation of today’s exact menu flow, costs, or requirements. Check the current game screen before committing materials. Compare the displayed stat and skill effects with the role you intend the character to fill rather than assuming every awakening is equally useful for your lineup.
What Hot Zones do and how to use them
FIVECROSS’s March 19, 2025 Hot Zone announcement describes a court with large C, F, and G areas, each split into smaller areas. Entering an unlocked Hot Zone can grant a bonus, while Hot Zone development can unlock season skills that can be used manually during matches.

Use the current season screen to inspect which zones are unlocked and what their displayed bonuses or skills do. Then consider whether those effects support your player’s role and match plan. The announcement does not establish numerical effect values or a universal priority order for zones, so use the current in-game descriptions rather than assuming one area is always best.
