There is no single Epic Seven team that is best for every activity. Build around the mode’s rules and your goal: PvE asks you to answer a stage or boss, while PvP asks you to execute a plan against an opponent who may draft and ban around it.
Why one team cannot cover every mode
Epic Seven is built around strategic combinations of heroes, and its official game overview highlights World Arena as one part of the game. That does not mean one lineup will work equally well everywhere: an automated fight against stage mechanics and a PvP draft against an opponent place different demands on your roster.
Start by asking what the team must do to win in this specific activity. Then choose heroes and equipment that support that job, rather than copying a lineup without its context. A team recommendation is only useful when it identifies the mode, the relevant rules, and the conditions under which the lineup works.
What to build for each major activity
| Activity | What to consider | How specific the available guidance is |
|---|---|---|
| Adventure and other PvE stages | Read the stage requirements and enemy mechanics; choose a lineup that can answer them. | No current optimal lineup is established here. |
| Hunts, Abyss, Expeditions, and Labyrinth or Raid | Assess the particular encounter or objective, then select heroes whose skills address it. The official Google Play listing identifies Raid Labyrinth among the game’s activities. | No mode-by-mode team recommendations are established here. |
| Automatic Arena | Build for the rules and opponent behavior of this automatic PvP format; do not assume a World Arena draft plan transfers unchanged. | An unofficial PvP guide distinguishes this from draft-based formats. |
| World Arena and Real-Time Arena | Draft toward a coherent win condition, respond to the opponent’s picks, and account for bans where the format uses them. | An unofficial guide discusses picks, bans, and counter-picks; check the live client for current rules. |
| Guild Wars | Check the current in-game rules and objective before choosing a lineup. | The official Google Play listing identifies Guild Wars, but the available sources do not establish its current team requirements. |
| The Call of Chaos | Confirm whether it is currently available and review its live rules before preparing a team. | Smilegate described it as a planned real-time PvP addition to World Arena on August 25, 2026; that announcement alone does not verify its current availability. |
| Dimensional Exploration | Check the live game for availability and its current mechanics before planning a lineup. | Smilegate described it as an upcoming roguelike PvE mode on August 25, 2026; current availability is not established by that announcement. |
How to build a PvE team around an encounter
The right PvE lineup depends on the stage, boss, or objective. The sources available do not establish a single best team for Adventure, Hunts, Abyss, Labyrinth or Raid, or Expeditions, so treat any exact lineup as something to verify against the current encounter rather than a universal recommendation.

- Escanor is ready to join his fellow Sins in the battle against the Holy Knights. Unite this exclusive, metallic Lion's Sin of Pride with the rest of the Sins in your collection
- Vinyl figure is approximately 3.90-inches tall
- Comes in original packaging and protected with our premium pop protector
- Read the encounter first. Identify its win condition, notable enemy mechanics, and any restrictions shown in the stage.
- Turn mechanics into needs. Decide what the team must accomplish to handle that encounter. For example, determine whether the challenge calls for damage, survival, recovery, or an answer to a specific mechanic; do not assume every team needs the same mix.
- Choose heroes and equipment that serve those needs. A strong hero in isolation is not a substitute for a lineup that can complete the job together.
- Test against the actual failure point. If the team fails, identify whether it cannot survive, cannot deal enough damage, or cannot answer a mechanic. Adjust for that problem rather than changing the whole lineup at random.
- Recheck after changes. Events and modes can change, so confirm the current encounter rules before relying on an older team recommendation.
How to choose a PvP plan: cleave or tank-down
An unofficial Epic Seven Wiki PvP fundamentals guide, last updated September 12, 2026, describes two broad approaches. These are strategic archetypes, not guaranteed outcomes or universal recommendations.
Cleave: aim to act first and finish quickly
A cleave plan prioritizes taking the first turn, setting up the opponent, and ending the fight quickly. Its central risk is that the team may lose the speed contest or fail to execute its sequence. Consider this approach only if the draft and your available heroes and equipment can support a coherent fast win condition.

Tank-down: survive the opening and sustain
A tank-down plan accepts that the opponent may open first and aims to survive through durability and sustain, then win over longer turns. It still needs a way to convert survival into a win; lasting longer is not itself a win condition.
The guide discusses speed tuning and gives numeric speed targets and named hero or artifact examples. Treat those figures and examples as dated opinions from an unofficial guide, not universal requirements or independently tested benchmarks. A number without its team, equipment, matchup, and mode context is not a reliable build rule.

How to draft around an opponent
In draft-based PvP, choose a plan you can still execute after the opponent responds. The September 12, 2026 unofficial guide emphasizes first picks, bans, filling roster roles, and counter-picking. The practical test is not whether a pick is individually popular; it is whether your selections work together and leave you a plausible route to victory.
- Identify your win condition. Decide whether the draft is trying to take the first turn and close quickly or endure the opening and win through sustained turns.
- Read the opponent’s picks. Look for threats that could break your plan and identify what your remaining picks need to address.
- Fill the gaps. Select heroes that make the lineup function as a team, rather than adding disconnected strong picks.
- Use bans to protect the plan. Where the format allows bans, consider which opponent pick most threatens your intended route to victory.
- Confirm the mode’s rules. Automatic Arena, World Arena, Real-Time Arena, and The Call of Chaos are not interchangeable labels. The unofficial guide distinguishes the formats, but current rules and availability should be checked in the client.
A quick decision framework before committing resources
- Mode: Is this an encounter-driven PvE activity, automatic PvP, or a draft-based PvP format?
- Goal: What must the team do to win this particular fight?
- Plan: Does the lineup have one coherent route to that goal, such as acting first and ending quickly or surviving and sustaining?
- Coverage: Can the selected heroes answer the known stage requirements or likely opponent threats?
- Evidence: Is the recommendation current and specific to this mode, or is it an older general example?
Currentness matters. Smilegate’s June 29, 2026 update described an Epic Dash event running through August 27 and a limited-time summer hero; those dated details are past as of October 7, 2026. They illustrate why event availability and roster advice should be checked against the live game instead of repeated as current recommendations.
