The strongest Tower of Fantasy team is the best three-weapon setup you can field for the activity you are playing—not a fixed list of characters. Start with weapons you own, then balance damage, shield breaking, charge, and survival. For co-op, include the utility your party needs; for PvP, use a separate build process because current rules and a verified best team are not established here.
Build around the activity, not a universal tier list
A setup that works for solo progression may not cover a difficult boss or a co-op party’s needs. PvP is a separate case: mode rules, matchups, control, and survivability matter alongside damage. Treat older character rankings and sample builds as historical examples, not proof of what is strongest now.

The community-maintained Free to Play Guide for Tower of Fantasy identifies weapon roles, shield breaking, and charge as composition considerations, while noting that weapon strength changes with patches. Those are useful decision axes, not a current character-by-character ranking.
Choose your three weapons in a practical order
- Name the activity. Decide whether you are building for solo progression, a boss, group PvE, or a particular PvP mode. The answer determines which gaps matter.
- Pick a damage plan from your roster. Begin with owned weapons that work toward a compatible damage plan or role resonance. Keep a strong owned option in consideration instead of replacing it automatically to match a generic tier list.
- Check shield breaking and charge separately. For shielded PvE enemies, include a weapon suited to breaking shields. Also consider charge generation: shield breaking and building charge solve different problems, so one should not be assumed to cover the other.
- Fill the survival or utility gap. In solo content, choose enough sustain for your own survival. In difficult co-op, check whether the party needs support or tank utility and coordinate your choices with the other players.
- Equip the matrices you have. Matrices are a separate build layer from the weapon. Use available sets that suit your setup, but do not treat a weapon’s associated Simulacrum as proof that its matrices are automatically your best choice.
- Recheck the setup after updates. Read the current in-game descriptions for resonance and weapon effects, and verify current availability and mode rules before relying on a dated build recommendation.
Use resonance deliberately
Attack, tank, and support are distinct weapon archetypes, and resonance can make the number and type of weapons you equip consequential. An older Tower of Fantasy Index guide describes activating an archetype’s resonance by equipping two weapons of that archetype, while a one-of-each setup is presented as balanced. Because that guide is older, treat the rule and any associated bonus values as something to confirm in the current client rather than relying on old numerical descriptions. See the Tower of Fantasy Index guides and compare them with the resonance description shown in your game.

Use resonance as a constraint, not the whole build. A matching pair is useful only if your three weapons still cover the encounter’s damage, shield, charge, and survival needs. If a resonance-focused setup leaves an important gap, adjust for the content you are actually playing.
Adjust the build for PvE
Solo progression and bosses
For solo PvE, compare your weapons against the fight rather than choosing by a broad ranking. Shielded enemies make shield-breaking capability important; longer fights put pressure on sustained damage and survival, while short damage windows reward a plan for useful burst. Consider area coverage when dealing with groups. The right balance depends on the encounter and on which weapons you own.

Group content
Before difficult co-op, look at the party’s combined coverage. If other players already bring damage, a support or tank contribution may make the group more dependable, especially when the party does not have top-end gear. Coordinate rather than duplicating a role by default. The community guide discusses role coverage and shield pressure as general considerations, but it does not establish a current best three-weapon lineup for every group encounter.

Do not label a PvE lineup the best PvP team without checking the competitive mode. PvP selection should account for the current rules, weapon balance, control and escape tools, survivability, and matchup coverage. The sources available here do not establish current version 6.3 PvP rules or a reliable strongest composition, so a named “best team” would be unsupported. Check the live mode rules and current weapon descriptions, then build for those conditions rather than importing a PvE recommendation.

Keep weapons, Simulacra, and matrices distinct
A Simulacrum is associated with a weapon, but matrices are obtained and equipped separately. The live Tower of Fantasy Index Simulacra reference lists roster additions, while the Matrices fan-wiki overview describes matrices as a separate system. In practice, make the three-weapon composition work first, then fit the matrix sets you own to that build. Exact current best-in-slot matrix choices are not established by these references.

Roster advice ages quickly: the live Simulacra index lists newer additions such as Roslyn and Ji Yu, so older guide examples cannot establish today’s best team. The official version 6.3 announcement, published September 10, 2026, scheduled the update for September 15, 2026 (UTC+0). It announced new Simulacrum Zoey, added The Witch’s Key to the permanent Choice Weapons special order and Gray Fox Matrices to the permanent Choice Matrices special order, and described new or updated content including Evolution Frontier, Sequential Phantasm, and Bygone Phantasm: Boundless Realm. Check the current client for later updates, since that dated announcement does not establish what changed afterward.
