Build your Rune Slayer character around the role you want to play: choose a class for your preferred damage style and party function, select a species whose traits complement it, then prioritize the main stat associated with that class’s damage type. Add Stamina or Spirit when durability or recovery matters more than squeezing out offense. There is no established universal best build: rankings are editorial, and the detailed gear recipes available here date to June 2025.
Choose your role before choosing a class
Start by deciding how you want to contribute and where you expect to play. A solo character often needs enough durability or recovery to stay effective without a teammate; a group build can trade some self-sufficiency for damage, control, or healing. In a party, covering different roles can be more useful than having everyone chase the same damage profile.
| Play preference | Class direction | Trade-off to consider |
|---|---|---|
| Ranged burst damage | Archer | Favors distance and burst, rather than the durability of a frontline melee role. |
| Ranged damage with buffs | Magician | Combines damage with buffs; its fit may depend on how much you value support alongside offense. |
| Durable melee and crowd control | Warrior | More robust frontline play, rather than ranged reach. |
| Fast, close-range damage | Thief | Swift and capable of burst, but described as squishy. |
| Melee damage | Striker | Offers a melee approach with less tankiness than Warrior. |
| Healing and party support | Priest | Healing can be more valuable in a party than when playing alone. |
Pocket Gamer’s September 2, 2026 overview describes these roles and ranks Archer, Magician, and Samurai in S tier; Warrior in A; Thief and Striker in B; and Priest in C. That is the publication’s editorial ranking, not a controlled comparison or proof that one class is objectively strongest. The overview includes Samurai in its tier table but does not clarify its progression category. The community wiki search result lists six base classes—Warrior, Archer, Thief, Striker, Magician, and Priest—and says subclasses are chosen at level 30. Check the current in-game class interface for available classes, subclass names, and unlock requirements rather than assuming those labels or progression details remain unchanged. Match your species to the class, but treat old pairings as starting points
Species traits can influence how a class feels, but the available detailed pairing advice is dated. Pro Game Guides’ recommendations below were updated June 17, 2025; use them as ideas to investigate in game, not as verified current mechanics or guaranteed best combinations.

|---|---|---|
| Human | Warrior | Favored for melee and tank play; the guide describes a Tenacity effect below 50% HP. |
| Elf | Magician or Thief | Mana and cooldown traits for Magician; stealth, speed, and invisibility traits for Thief. |
| Orc | Priest; also considered for Archer or Magician | Reported base HP regeneration, including a possible sustain benefit for squishier classes. |
| Ailuran | Thief or Archer | Reported movement speed and mobility. |
| Slime | Warrior, Thief, or Striker | Reported immunity and defensive traits for physical attackers. |
| Half-Golem | Match class to evolution choice | The guide describes separate offensive and defensive specializations. |
| Dullahan | Magician; Archer or Striker also discussed | A dated guide recommendation; verify the current trait and class fit in game. |
The September 2026 Pocket Gamer overview lists 12 species, while the June 2025 pairing guide predates it. That difference is a reason to check which species are currently available and what their live descriptions say before committing to an older recipe. Prioritize the stat that matches your damage type
The community wiki’s search result gives broad directional roles for five core stats: Strength and Agility support physical offense, Intellect supports magic offense, Stamina raises maximum health, and Spirit supports health and mana regeneration. It associates Warrior and Striker with Strength, Thief and Archer with Agility, and Magician and Priest with Intellect. The stats page identifies itself as a stub and could not be opened, so treat these descriptions as a starting point and confirm the live tooltips in your game.

No verified point split, breakpoint, damage formula, or allocation target is established here; use current in-game tooltips and your own needs rather than treating a precise stat ratio as proven. Use published gear recipes as dated examples, not current best-in-slot claims
Pro Game Guides’ all-classes build page, updated June 17, 2025, gives concrete combinations of species, subclass, weapon, armor, and runes. The recipes can help you identify a direction, but the page does not provide independent testing evidence. Names, drops, subclass labels, and effectiveness may have changed; check the current game before spending time pursuing a specific item.

A practical build decision sequence
- Pick a job: decide whether you want ranged damage, melee damage, a durable frontline, or healing and support, and whether you will mostly play solo or with a group.
- Choose a class for that job: weigh range, burst, control, durability, and party utility rather than selecting solely from a tier label.
- Check the current class and species interfaces: confirm the class or subclass exists, its unlock conditions, and the species traits currently shown in game.
- Set an offense-first stat direction: use the live stat descriptions to identify the primary stat for your class’s damage type. Add health or regeneration support if your play context exposes a weakness.
- Evaluate equipment in the current version: treat older recipes as candidates, compare current item and rune effects, and avoid assuming a listed drop remains optimal.
- Adjust to the problem you actually encounter: if you struggle to stay alive, favor durability or recovery; if survival is comfortable, lean back toward your main offense or party role.
