Build your Legend of Kingdoms team around the heroes you have actually developed, then check that the lineup covers damage, support, and a frontline role. There is no verified five-hero lineup that is best for every mode: use published team examples as starting points, then adapt them to your roster, formation, faction bonus, and the battle you are trying to win.
What makes a strong Legend of Kingdoms team?
A strong team is more than five high-tier names. It needs useful role coverage, enough investment to make its heroes effective, and synergy that fits the mode. The game’s official Google Play listing specifically calls out faction bonuses and formation, and identifies arena and cooperative team play as available activities; it does not publish a hero ranking or a universal best lineup. See the official Legend of Kingdoms listing on Google Play.
- Frontline: Include a hero who can take pressure and help keep more fragile damage dealers from drawing attacks.
- Damage: Bring heroes that can defeat the opposing team, with their skills and strengths complementing each other where possible.
- Support: Healing, shields, control, or other support can help the lineup survive and execute its plan.
- Investment: Consider each hero’s upgrades and the copies you have, not just a tier-list label.
- Synergy: Check the in-game faction bonus and formation before committing to a team.
- Mode: Judge the team in the specific activity you are attempting; the available sources do not establish mode-by-mode win rates.
Which heroes are useful starting points?
Pocket Gamer’s early-to-mid-game guide, published January 13, 2025, builds two example lineups around Ma Chao (Meng Qi). Those examples can help when assembling an early roster, but they are dated recommendations rather than a current balance ranking. For later-game options, Pocket Gamer’s tier list updated September 2, 2026, for version 1.0.17 rates several heroes highly. Its evaluations are editorial opinions, not official rankings or a reproducible team-composition test. Read Pocket Gamer’s Legend of Kingdoms tier list.
| Hero | What the cited guide says | How to use that information |
|---|---|---|
| Demon Lu Bu (Feng Xian) | Pocket Gamer’s September 2026 tier list places him in S+ and describes him as a frontline damage dealer. | Consider him when you need frontline presence as well as damage; check his actual investment and fit with the rest of your team. |
| Demon Diao Chan (Bi Yue) | The same list places her in S+ and describes a high-DPS assassin with self-recovery and bleed. | She can be a damage option, but the 2025 guide’s advice is to include a frontline so fragile assassins are less likely to take aggro. |
| Saint Da Qiao (Da Qiao) | The list places her in S+ and describes a support who heals and applies crowd control. | Consider her when your lineup needs support; the 2025 guide also suggests her as a substitute for Sun Luyu in one example. |
| Sun Luyu (Little Tiger) | The list places her in S tier and describes a starting support with shields, Fury gain, and healing. | She is a support option to evaluate against the heroes you have developed and the needs of the mode. |
The tier list states its version and update date, but the cited text does not give sample sizes, mode-specific win rates, or a reproducible test method. Treat its placements as a shortlist for considering heroes, not proof that a particular lineup will win.

Two example teams to adapt
Pocket Gamer’s January 2025 guide gives these two five-hero lineups. They are examples, not fixed requirements: use the one that better fits your available heroes and upgrades, then adjust for role coverage and the chosen mode. Read Pocket Gamer’s early-to-mid-game guide.

If you do not have Demon Diao Chan, the guide suggests using another good damage dealer; it also names Demon Cao Cao as an alternative. If Saint Da Qiao is available, the guide suggests replacing Sun Luyu with her. Make the substitution based on who is developed and what the team lacks rather than treating either swap as mandatory.

- Works with Nintendo Switch 2. C button not available
- 3.5mm audio jack , On guard against the fiercest attacks, Link is ready to take on the most fearsome of Hyrule’s enemies.
- Mappable Advanced Gaming Buttons
- Detachable 10ft (3m) USB Cable
- No batteries required
This example includes heroes the 2026 tier list rates highly, but it should not be read as a tested best team. If you cannot build it, preserve the underlying idea: include support and at least one frontline hero, and fill remaining places with damage dealers who fit your roster.
Should you use your strongest heroes or activate a faction bonus?
Do not sacrifice role coverage or a large investment advantage just to chase a bonus without checking the result. The official listing says faction bonuses and formation matter, but the available sources do not specify a universal trade-off or quantify the value of a bonus against individual hero strength.

- Put together a candidate team from heroes you have actually upgraded.
- Check the pre-fight screen for the faction bonus and formation the game shows for that lineup.
- Compare it with a second lineup that improves the frontline, support, or damage coverage you need.
- Try both in the activity where you are stuck and keep the arrangement that performs better for that task.
Which heroes should you upgrade first?
Concentrate scarce upgrade resources on a small core rather than spreading them across every hero. Pocket Gamer’s January 2025 guide recommends prioritizing one hero before moving to the next and identifies Ma Chao as its first hero to max in that guide’s context. That is advice tied to its early-to-mid-game example, not a current rule that Ma Chao is always the best investment for every account.
- Choose a few heroes who provide the frontline, damage, and support your current team needs.
- Prioritize upgrades for one core hero at a time, then move to the next useful team member.
- Avoid spending level-up resources on fodder heroes used to advance your main heroes.
- Reassess when your roster, available copies, or the mode you are playing changes.
How should you choose equipment and improve a struggling team?
Give your strongest available equipment to the heroes carrying your lineup, but inspect the stats on each piece rather than trusting auto-equip alone. The 2025 guide lists rarity levels from green through blue, purple, gold, red, pink, and rainbow, calling rainbow the best in that article. Because that is not an exhaustive current equipment database, use the in-game item and stat information for your present version rather than relying on that older list as a definitive guide to every item.
