To block unwanted texts on a Jitterbug, first identify the phone model and the app showing the conversation. Lively’s current help pages do not document a universal text-blocking procedure, and the spam-protection feature described for some Jitterbug models applies to calls—not texts. If your messaging app offers a text-sender option such as “Block” or “Report spam,” follow the option shown on your phone; if it does not, contact Lively with your model and app name.
First, identify your Jitterbug model and messaging app
Jitterbug phones do not all share the same menus or messaging interface. Before looking for a blocking control, find the model name in the phone’s settings, usually in an About or phone-information area. If you cannot locate it, check the original packaging or ask Lively support.

Check the conversation for a text-sender control
Open the unwanted conversation and inspect its menu or conversation details for an option explicitly labeled “Block,” “Block number,” or “Report spam.” If you see one, read the confirmation prompt and make sure it applies to the text sender before confirming. The exact label, location, and effect depend on the app and its version.
Lively’s current model help pages do not publish a verified sequence of taps for blocking a text sender. Accordingly, a specific path should not be treated as a Jitterbug-tested instruction unless it matches the controls visible in your own messaging app.

Do not confuse call filtering with text blocking
Lively describes spam protection on the Smart5 and Flip3 in connection with unwanted calls or callers. A call-filtering feature is not evidence that texts from the same number will be blocked. For example, Lively identifies the Smart5 as model JBS5T513G running Android 16, but that specification does not establish that its message controls are identical to those on other Jitterbug phones.

If you cannot find the option, ask Lively for model-specific help
Call Lively customer support at 1-800-733-6632. Tell the representative the phone model and the name of the messaging app displaying the unwanted conversation, and ask where that app’s text-sender blocking or spam-reporting control is located. Lively lists this number for customer questions on its Smart5 support page.

Blocking a sender does not disable public emergency alerts
Ordinary sender blocking is not a way to turn off national Wireless Emergency Alerts. Lively’s Jitterbug Smart5 help page says consumers cannot block national alerts.
