Godlike.Host offers hosted Satisfactory servers with its own game panel, SFTP access and free DDoS protection, if you would rather not host it yourself.
To become an admin on a Satisfactory dedicated server, open Server Manager. If the server is marked Unclaimed, select it, enter a server name and an Admin Password, and confirm the claim. If another person has already claimed it, select an admin tab and enter that existing Admin Password. Administration is password-based: anyone who knows the current password can administer the server, and changing it requires every admin to authenticate again.
The labels and exact screens can vary by game version or hosting provider. The procedures below reflect currently circulated third-party instructions, so confirm unusual behavior against the documentation for your Satisfactory release or host.

Your first step depends on the status shown in Server Manager. Do not try to claim a server that is already claimed; claiming and signing in are different operations.

Administration is not tied to a particular player account in the instructions available for this feature. The password is the credential that gates administrative functions.

Claim an unclaimed server
Use this procedure when you operate a new dedicated server or when no one has claimed it yet.
- Open Server Manager. Start Satisfactory and choose Server Manager from the main menu.
- Add the server. Enter the server’s IP address and port in the address field. A typical example is
123.45.67.89:7777. Use the address and port supplied by your host rather than copying this example. - Wait for the status to update. A reachable server should move from Offline to Unclaimed. If it remains Offline, troubleshoot connectivity before attempting to claim it.
- Select the Unclaimed entry. This opens the claim screen instead of the normal administration tabs.
- Set a Server Name. Choose a label that lets everyone identify this server in their Server Manager list. This is the server’s label, not the password.
- Create the Admin Password. Enter a strong, unique password and record it in a password manager. Setting this password is the act that claims the server.
- Confirm the claim. After confirmation, the server is claimed. Reopen it from Server Manager to verify that the administration tabs are available.
Do not confuse the Admin Password with a player join password. The available guidance describes the join password as a separate setting that is off by default; it controls who may connect as a player, while the Admin Password controls access to management functions.

What to do after claiming
Give the Admin Password only to people who should be able to change server settings, load saves, or create games. Anyone who has it can authenticate as an administrator; there is no separate per-person administrator list described in the available instructions.
Log in when someone else has claimed the server
A claimed server cannot be reclaimed by another player. You must authenticate with the password that was created during the original claim.
- Open Server Manager from Satisfactory’s main menu.
- Select the claimed server.
- Open any administrator area, such as Server Settings, Create Game, or Manage Saves.
- When prompted, enter the current Admin Password.
- Submit the password and wait for the selected tab to load. Once authenticated, the available administration functions should be usable.
One third-party guide also describes a Log In with Admin Password button in the in-game pause menu. That route is not corroborated by the other instructions, so treat it as version-dependent. If the button is absent, leave the session through the normal menu and use Server Manager from the main menu.

What the Admin Password allows
The password gates the server-management actions described by the guides:
- Loading a save on the server.
- Changing server options in Server Settings.
- Creating a new game.
- Opening and using management areas such as Manage Saves.
It does not appear to be an account role that is assigned permanently to one Steam or platform identity. Instead, the same password is presented whenever an administrator area requests authentication. Consequently, sharing the password effectively shares administrative authority.
Admin Password versus player join password

Changing the password
Changing the Admin Password changes the credential for everyone. People using the old password must authenticate again with the new one, so tell other administrators when you rotate it. A password change is therefore also a way to remove access from anyone who should no longer administer the server.
Ports and connectivity
A server must be reachable before it can be claimed. The commonly used game port for adding a Satisfactory server is 7777. Enter it with the server address in the form address:port, unless your host explicitly supplied a different port.
Some guidance attributes an additional Reliable Messaging Port, normally 8888, to servers running since Patch 1.1.0.0. That patch attribution and requirement are not independently confirmed here. If only one port is exposed, claiming may fail; ask the host or check the configuration for your exact server version before changing firewall rules.

The query-port discrepancy
Third-party instructions disagree about a query port, citing either 7777 or 15777. The consistent instruction for the Server Manager address is to enter the game server on port 7777 when that is the configured default. Do not open or substitute 15777 solely because it appears in a guide; use the port shown by your server configuration or hosting provider.
Self-hosted server checklist
- Confirm that the dedicated server process is running.
- Confirm the external IP address is the one reachable by the intended administrators.
- Forward the configured game port on the router to the server machine.
- Allow the port through the machine’s firewall.
- If your version or host requires it, make the Reliable Messaging Port reachable as well.
- Refresh Server Manager and check whether the status changes from Offline to Unclaimed or Claimed.
Port forwarding is a network requirement, not an Admin Password setting. A correct password cannot claim a server that Server Manager cannot reach.
Servers rented from a hosting panel
A hosting provider may perform port forwarding and expose a control panel instead of giving you direct access to the machine. The provider’s claim screen can also differ from the self-hosted screen. If the server starts but no claim prompt appears, consult that provider’s Satisfactory instructions for the assigned address, port, and claim workflow.
Do not assume that a panel’s login password is the same as the Satisfactory Admin Password. The panel account controls the hosting service; the in-game Admin Password controls Satisfactory administration.

The available guidance does not describe built-in in-game commands such as /kick or /ban. Administrative work is performed through the Server Manager interface, its Console tab, configuration files, or an HTTPS API, depending on the feature and server setup. If you are looking for a chat command to grant yourself admin rights, use the claim or password-login workflow instead.

If you forgot the Admin Password
Password recovery is the least certain part of the available guidance. Two third-party procedures conflict, and neither is confirmed here by official Satisfactory documentation. Treat both as recovery possibilities, not guaranteed instructions.
Method A: remove the server settings file
One guide says to stop the server and delete its server-settings file so that the server can be claimed again. The exact filename and location can vary by operating system, installation, and server version. Deleting the wrong file can remove settings or make later diagnosis harder.
Method B: edit Game.ini
Another guide says to stop the server, connect over SFTP, open FactoryGame/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/Game.ini, and remove or reset the AdminPassword entry. After restarting, the server may present itself for claiming again.
Safer recovery sequence
- Stop the dedicated server cleanly.
- Make a complete backup of the server configuration and save files before deleting or editing anything.
- Check your host’s current recovery instructions and the path used by your operating system.
- If you proceed with a file edit, change only the AdminPassword entry and preserve the rest of the file.
- Restart the server and check Server Manager. If it becomes Unclaimed, claim it with a new password.
- If the server remains claimed or fails to start, restore the backup and contact the host rather than repeatedly deleting files.
Do not edit configuration files while the server is running; a running process can overwrite your change or leave the file partially written. Because the recovery methods conflict, an administrator who cannot risk save or configuration loss should wait for version-specific host or developer guidance.

The entry stays Offline
- Verify the IP address and port, including the colon between them.
- Confirm the server process is running and not still starting.
- Check router forwarding and the operating-system firewall.
- Ask the host whether a second reliable-messaging port is required for your version.
- Refresh Server Manager after making network changes.
The server is Unclaimed, but the claim fails
- Confirm that the server is reachable on the configured game port.
- Check whether the additional port requirement applies to your release.
- Use a new password that meets any length or character rules shown on the screen.
- Ensure another administrator is not claiming the server at the same time.
- Restart the server only after saving its configuration and checking host guidance.
The server is already Claimed
- Do not enter a new password on the claim screen; it is no longer an unclaimed server.
- Open Server Settings, Create Game, or Manage Saves and enter the existing Admin Password.
- If the owner changed the password, obtain the new password from that owner.
The password is rejected
- Check capitalization, spaces, and keyboard layout.
- Confirm that you are entering the Satisfactory Admin Password, not the hosting-panel password or player join password.
- Ask whether the password was recently changed; every administrator must use the new value.
- If no administrator knows the current password, use the cautious recovery process above rather than guessing at files or ports.
Security practices for shared servers
- Use a unique Admin Password that is not reused for your hosting account, email, or other services.
- Store it in a password manager and share it only with people who need server-management access.
- Do not post it in public chat, issue trackers, or screenshots.
- Rotate it when an administrator leaves the project or the password may have been exposed.
- After rotation, verify that trusted administrators can sign in with the new value and that the old value no longer works.
- Keep configuration backups before changing ports, passwords, or save-management settings.
